Die Barkhorstraße ist ein etwa 800 Meter langer Gebetsweg, der rund um das Kloster Jokhang in Lhasa führt.

The Barkor is a popular devotional circumabulation for pilgrims and locals.

DB Cargo 'Tug' 60044 powers away from Nottingham station after a centre-platform driver change while hauling the 11.04am Kingsbury Oil Terminal - Humber Refinery discharged tanks (6E54).

Couldn't resist including the step-ladders (sadly out of bounds for the photographer), nor the extensive train behind the loco. In fact the train is too long to be contained within the platform loops so it typically approaches the station with a green-light run-through, stopping only for the brief driver-swap.

Aside from the ornate ironwork, which shows up nicely on a sunny day, I was quite taken with the sun-rays beaming through the exhaust on to the platform. Probably more so than any unfortunate passengers having to ingest it.

The trip over here was to see family so I took the pocket-sized little Sony for once. Shutter response can be a bit hit and miss, but I'm still pleasantly surprised at the quality of the images it produces. After doing a few test-shots beforehand, this was set to under-expose by 2/3 stop - which just about got it right.

“Step by Step

All the happy Saints go marching in...

...If I’m late, don’t wait

Go on without me

I may tarry awhile

Cause I need to know

Before I go

How come the Devil smiles...”

Thank you all for visits, favs and comments, it's greatly appreciated!

If this image looks vaguely familiar, it is...because only yesterday we were stepping into spring and I decided what the heck, since we were on the steps anyway, might as well try another season, eh? It's amazing what a difference a day makes...and a few processing clicks as well. And please feel free to ignore the redundancy if you so choose...no offense will be taken...;-))

High-stepping it on the broken jetties that are a part of our lakeshore landmarks.

I walk this lakeshore almost every evening and you would think the photographic possibilities would eventually run out. But no. With a keen eye, a passion for a new image, and a love for nature and people, each outing is an adventure...

The picture above is just what I'm talking about.

This otherwise ordinary glass office building on University Ave offers views of interesting lines and reflections. Built in 1991.

Fornalutx has been crowned the prettiest village of Mallorca more than one time. It has some beautiful stepped lanes lined with flowers and ochre-coloured stone houses.

The same stepping stones as my previous picture, this time taken from the other direction.

A common myna (acridotheres tristis) looking as though it was about to step off a dead tree stump. In fact the bird put its foot back down and remained perched for some time. Photographed at Khlong Nin Beach, Koh Lanta, Krabi Province, Thailand.
