An afternoon of all things STEM! Chula Vista Library in partnership with Biocom hosted STEM in Your Backyard, a pocket-sized version of the popular San Diego Festival of Science & Engineering. Students, families, and business leaders were given the opportunity to interact and engage in an impactful setting leading to quality discussions and in-depth learning.

The Federation's Creative Education Agenda was launched at the Institution of Civil Engineers and aimed to highlight concerns about the narrow focus some schools and policy makers have on science, technology and maths without art, drama, music, design or other similar subjects. The report was launched with a keynote speech from the Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries, The Hon Ed Vaizey.

Jason Jones-Hall, Head of Delivery and Development, Creative Skillset;
Ian Livingstone CBE, Games Entrepreneur;
Nick Tyler, Chadwick Professor of Civil Engineering, UCL;
Annie Warburton, Creative Programmes Director, Crafts Council.

I-Stem (Inclusive Stem), (inclusivestem.org): is an organization that is committed to empowering students with disabilities to pursue education and careers in STEM. This is primarily done through technical training, hands-on events, awareness campaigns and technical R&D. XRCVC (www.xrcvc.org) Xavier’s Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged (XRCVC) is a department of St. Xavier’s College, (Autonomous) Mumbai that works on advocacy and access for persons with disabilities through its diverse programs. STEM education access for blind and low vision persons is one of its key interest areas. XRCVC has been in the inclusive higher education space since over a decade with the college whose department it is being a leading education institute in the country for the past 150 years (xaviers.edu) that has always looked at education to be inclusive for all their students.
