I was out early one morning with only the big lens, looking for wildlife. No luck there, but I was very glad I noticed this frost on these red stems. I don't know what the plant is. I've been bringing my macro lens every day since, but frost this nice doesn't happen very often. Siskiyou County, California

Clean stem glasses are stored upside down in a bar. A play of warm light, shadows and reflections. The impression of cleanliness.

tiny bubbles... look close!

12 - 24mm wide angle lens used near to the stem to give that long stem effect.

This flower was just taken from a vase of flowers and held up to the sky for the shot.

Just a quick sharpen and contrast boost added and a little lens flare just for effect !

Last night I opened a bottle of Prosecco and, yes, I can down a whole bottle in one evening, but I didn't. What was left, was a well earned reward for spending most of today gardening.

As I walked through the produce section, I stopped in amazement when I spotted the broccoli romanesque. I knew immediately that it was an example in nature of a fractal pattern.

Another shot of this tiny Ceutorhynch (Seed) Weevil that I posted a couple of weeks back. As I noted previously, you really get no idea how small they are from a photo, but believe me when I say it was no more than 3mm long.

Same, but photographed with Cokin B-Y polarizer filter below...

Organic and otherworldly and an evolution of the Venetian series, Dale Chihuly's Ikebana pieces are inspired by the Japanese art of flower arrangement. They feature long-stemmed flowers and leaves of glass, presented dramatically in vase-like vessels.

"Blanket Flower Stem" by Patti Deters. A single Indian Blanket flower (Gaillardia pulchella) dares to bloom in a sea of green, a beacon of color against the muted blurred background. Its fiery hues seem to dance in the sunlight, a reminder of nature's vibrant palette. This wildflower is a striking blend of yellow and red petals that are pinked (pinnatifid) on the edges atop a tall perfectly straight stem. Soft bokeh effects in the background enhance the dreamy, serene and minimalist atmosphere. Thank you for viewing this image. The Stem. I loved how this stem seemed so alive as if it was just cut yesterday. Still green - still fresh.

I visited Lisbon, Portugal in December, 2019, shortly before Christmas. It's a fabulous city full of local character and colour. These local vendors sell amazing, high-quality produce with a smile. Fast forward half a year of world-turmoil due to Covid-19, I hope they are still surviving and making a living.

I've given in to the flowers... no telling how long this will last.
