Mal wieder meine geliebte Stecknadel, diesmal in rotem und blauem Licht.

Das Phänomen der farbigen Schatten.
Die Stecknadeln werden von bunten Schattenballons davongetragen. Die farbigen (Halb-) Schatten wurden mit jeweils einer roten, grünen, blauen und weißen LED erzeugt. Der Durchmesser der Stecknadelköpfe beträgt 4,5 mm.
- rotes Licht und grünes Licht = gelber Halbschatten
- blaues Licht und rotes Licht = magentafarbener Halbschatten
- blaues Licht und grünes Licht = cyanfarbener Halbschatten
The phenomenon of the colored shadows.
The pins are carried away by colorful shadow balloons. The colored (half) shadows were created with one red, one green, one blue and one white LED each. The diameter of the pin heads is 4.5 mm.
- red light and green light = yellow penumbra
- blue light and red light = magenta penumbra
- blue light and green light = cyan penumbra

Interessant sind auch die kleinen Insekten die da noch rumkrabbeln. Die fallen mir aber auch meist immer erst bei der Bearbeitung auf. Die Pilze selbst sind ja gerade mal Stecknadel groß.
Die Stecknadel ist eine 7,5 Meter hohe Metall-Skulptur, die den südlichsten Punkt im Maindreieck markiert.

Diameter of the coin: 2,7 cm / 1,06 inches
Oh dear, oh dear... What a journey. Actually I wanted to skip, because I really had no idea what to put on a coin that would even remotely make sense. I knew which coin I wanted to use, yes, but... However, as I rummaged through my drawers in search of something small that would go well with my coin of choice, I stumbled upon a few larger pins. Immediately one of those tourist or underground station city maps that depict your current location ("You are here") came to my mind. Since the coin shows a kind of map of Europe and Africa (and also the planets of our solar system), my original idea was to put the pin approximately where Berlin/Germany would be on that "map". But how should I fixate a metal pin on a metal coin? Glue? Didn't work. Modeling clay? But how should I hide the modeling clay? And how should I position the pin so that it wouldn't cover most of the "map"? By the time I had figured out how to do it (I "glued" the pin onto the coin's blue polymer ring with a small piece of blue modeling clay, at an angle that would let you see the map, too, while hiding the modeling clay), it was evening, and I didn't feel like shooting any more. There was a movie I wanted to watch on TV, and I was fed up with coins and pins in general ;-) I decided to continue the next day.
No sooner said than done. And easier said than done, too. On Monday, I placed the coin and pin on a small glass table and my tablet under the glass table. I opened Google Maps and chose a satellite view of North and South America (the Panama Canal region, simply because it looked nice as background). Numerous focus stacking / Helicon focus attempts followed. When I checked the time I realised that it already was four o'clock in the afternoon and I still had to write my description and tags. So I quickly had to choose one of the photos, and process it. Which is what you see here. Sigh.
Now for the coin itself: It is a 5 Euro collector's coin ("Blauer Planet Erde" - "Blue Planet Earth"), and it also is legal tender (in Germany only, however), officially issued by the Deutsche Bundesbank / the Federal Government (link: www.bundesbank.de/en/tasks/cash-management/euro-coins/col...). Not that I would like to use it as means of payment, since I have hopes that it will make me rich one day (hopeless now that I have scratched its valuable surface with a pin) ;-)

Ready for the Olympics? No, no, this is not a vaulting stick for jumping high, but a pin. And it is not hidden in a haystack, but obviously in a red and white striped piece of cloth. And no, I do not intend to sew, even if I could – I prefer to take pictures. I'm always amazed how things look so different as a macro. This needle measures exactly 1,18 inch, including the head – in these just under 0,12 inch reflects the entire environment – even me ;-)

Bereit für Olympia? Nein, nein das ist kein Hochsprungstab, sondern eine Stecknadel. Und sie ist auch nicht im Heuhaufen versteckt, sondern offensichtlich in einem rotweiß gestreiften Stück Stoff. Und nein, ich beabsichtige nicht zu nähen, auch wenn ich es könnte – ich fotografiere lieber. Ich bin immer wieder erstaunt, wie die Dinge als Makro so anders wirken. Diese Nadel misst genau 3 cm, inklusive Kopf – in diesen knapp 3 mm spiegelt sich das gesamte Umfeld – selbst ich ;-)

2 / Red and blue / The colors of Flickr. A perfect match. A wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded people through photography, to see your inspiring images – I have been doing this for exactly two years this October with a lot of fun and joy. A reason to celebrate, thanks for that ;-)
3 / Red and blue / Yes, and in the end, pins are essential for preparation when sewing – and you need a few more ... These two are in a linen shirt that will disappear in the wardrobe for the time being – autumn has arrived here, today it's pouring. Yesterday maybe I was able to take this picture outside in my garden for the last time – you can see my garden in the reflection ;-)

Eine wundervolle Möglichkeit, durch die Fotografie gleichgesinnte Menschen zu treffen, Eure inspirierenden Bilder zu sehen – das mache ich seit genau zwei Jahren in diesem Oktober mit sehr viel Spaß und Freude. Ein Grund zu feiern, Danke dafür ;-)
3 / Rot und Blau / Ja, und letztendlich sind Stecknadeln für die Vorbereitung beim Nähen unerlässlich – und dafür benötigt man noch ein paar mehr ... Diese zwei stecken in einem Leinenshirt, das für die nächste Zeit im Kleiderschrank verschwinden wird – der Herbst ist hier angekommen, heute regnet es in Strömen. Dieses Bild habe ich gestern vielleicht das letzte Mal draußen in meinem Garten aufnehmen können – ihr könnt ihn in der Spiegelung sehen ;-)

The protective cocoon is broken and many small wasp spiders are crawling around. They are no bigger than the head of a pin. They were in this cocoon for 8 months. It has nourished and protected them.

Mein Beitrag für HMM ist klitzekleines Muster aus der Bandweberei. An der Stecknadel ist die Farbe abgeblättert, das habe ich aber zu spät gesehen, sonst hätte ich den Focus bestimmt auf diese "Textur" gesetzt. :-)

Eine Fassadenseite des Ohla Hotels (35 Carrer Comtal, Barcelona) wurde von den Architekten Alonso & Balaguer mit diesen Stecknadel-Augen bestückt.
"Wie eine Insel mitten in der Stadt": So definiert das Studio Alonso & Balaguer Arquitectos seine Intervention im Hotel Ohla, das sich im Zentrum von Barcelona befindet. Die integrale Sanierung dieses in den 1920er Jahren errichteten Gebäudes hat dazu geführt, dass zwei Fassaden mit sehr unterschiedlichen Stilen gewonnen werden konnten. Dialog und Einheit dank ihrer Fenster und der von Frederic Amat geschaffenen Skulpturen: tausend Nadeln, die von Schülern gekrönt werden. Einzigartige Augen, die buchstäblich auf die Stadt blicken.

"Como una isla en medio de la ciudad”: así define el estudio Alonso & Balaguer Arquitectos su intervención en el Ohla Hotel , situado en el centro de Barcelona. La rehabilitación integral de este edificio, construido en los años 20 del pasado siglo, ha supuesto ganar dos fachadas de estilos muy diferentes. Ambas dialogan y se unifican gracias a sus ventanas y a las esculturas creadas por Frederic Amat: un millar de agujas rematadas por pupilas. Singulares ojos que, literalmente, miran a la ciudad.

Heute ein Fotoexperiment mit einer Lochkamera...Pinhole...!
Hierzu entfernt man das Objektiv der Spiegelreflexkamera
( siehe nächstes Foto )
und ersetzt es durch eine Scheibe mit einem Stecknadel kleinem Loch....!
Es kommt nur sehr wenig Licht auf den Fotosensor daher muss man lange belichten...hier 10 Sekunden und die Verstärkung hochdrehen ca ISO 1000.
Es gibt hier eine physikalisch bestimmte Unschärfe
das kann man aber auch Künstlerisch sehen...:-)))
Today a photo experiment with a pinhole camera... Pinhole...!
To do this, remove the lens of the SLR camera
( see next photo )
and replaces it with a disc with a pin small hole....!
There is very little light on the photo sensor so you have to expose for a long time... here 10 seconds and turn up the gain about ISO 1000.
There is a physically determined blur here
but you can also see that artistically...:-)))
