VTR #201, same power from the previous day, has just crossed the state line into New York and is heading west on Boston and Maine's former Bennington Branch towards the PAR interchange at Hoosick Junction.

We are near the site of the 1777 Battle of Bennington, where General Stark led a group of 2,000 militiamen against a British regiment consisting of mostly Hessians. The result was a decisive American victory, one of several victories of the Saratoga campaign that convinced France to join the American Revolution.

Sunlight streams through the large windows of the spacious Dairy Cattle Barn, casting long shadows as people walk down the central aisle, during Wisconsin's Annual State Fair. Various stalls and hay bales line the sides, filling the structure with a warm, rustic ambiance.

The granite peaks and rolling plains are calling. The clear mountain waters are inviting and the open ranges are waiting to be discovered. Bring your family to Custer State Park and let yourself run wild.

Encompassing 71,000 acres in the Black Hills, Custer State Park is home to abundant wildlife and adventure; camping, hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, or relaxing, there’s something here for everyone.

Feeding and disturbing park wildlife is against park regulations. While the animals within the park are used to visitors and vehicles, they are still wild animals. Please remain in your vehicle or stay at least 100 yards from bison, elk, and other animals.

Pets must be on a leash no longer than 10 feet and are not allowed in any park buildings or on designated swim beaches. Please clean up after your pet and do not leave it unattended. Service animals are welcome.

Firearms must be unloaded and cased unless during a hunting season with the proper license. Concealed carry is allowed with the appropriate permit.

The 3 hr coast-to-coast road trip from Christchurch to Greymouth is perhaps my favourite drive in New Zealand - such a diversity of landscape, and it always reveals something different depending on the weather and time of day.

As I had free tickets given to me from judging at the Spirited Beverage competition, I figured I ought to go to the Alaska State Fair for the first time in ages. It was a nice day (for a change), and I got to go on my favorite ride, the beer tent!
