I'm a big fan of Flickr Commons, but sometimes it's hard to get a feel for just how much there is in it.
So I've been using the flickr API to create an interactive map, timeline, and this small web app that produces summary stats both for The Commons as a whole, and for individual members (currently 56 of them).

Used as a symbol for books and other items, this clown among seabirds is one of the world's favourite birds. With half of the UK population at only a few sites it is an Red List species.

Uploads by year of shot vs upload year.
Been a while since I did one of these breakdowns of my stream (they're a bit self-referential). This is just an Excel output, before anyone gets too excited about Flickr's native stats options.
No wonder I'm so behind, my photography really spiked in 2009-2011 due to buying my first dSLR (god bless that old D40) and travel. And then basically stepping away from Flickr entirely in 2020-2021 left my account on pause.
Worryingly though it does look like one year of photos take 2-3 years for me to upload. Which means that if I don't want to take another 20 years to catch up to 2024, either I need to be more selective about what I upload here, or go back to multiple uploads per day.

Stop Owner is when you quit smoking, a free quit meter that monitors various statistics. Stopping can be a difficult approach - you most likely already thought that out. Thus, a tremendous distinction can be made by every small inspiration - that is where Quit Owner will come in.For sharing this
Yes, the view counts in Flickr's statistics page have been way off target recently. I posted the picture around 9:30 pm Sunday, February 14; at around 5:30 am GMT Monday, February 15, well into a new statistical day. Just comparing the all-time count versus the daily count for the picture, and versus the day's total, shows something is very amiss.
Cycling statistics this year to date:
Distance: 2,551.6 mi
Time: 338h 4m
Elevation Gain: 51,332 ft
Rides: 291
Of all my bicycles my Moulton TSR27 has covered the huge majority of the recorded distance. Which is a good sign, as the Moulton is the most expensive bicycle I've ever purchased.

Here is the new home page for my project statsr.net, which give you detailled stats about your flickr account.
This new version as four main goals :
- being nicer, faster, more reliable, and more acurate.
Here are some of main news :
- you can always and on every page select a date range to see stats for.
- for each graph you can zoom, or group stats by weeks or months
- some news stats are also available
- and finally we have wanted this version more profesional, so there is no more ads on the website, but a new pro account is now available, cheaper with all basics stats.
A new poll says 30% of parents have seen at least one worrisome behavior in their children that could be associated with an eating disorder—and they’re blaming it on school-based anti-obesity programs.

--> not a bad result, isn't it ?
So I really like to thank all visitors for their time and visit, and also for all comments and favs and appreciation.
THANKS !!!

When to see
January to December
Familiar birds of farmlands and wetlands, lapwings can often be seen wheeling through winter skies in large, black and white flocks. As spring approaches, these flocks get smaller; some birds head back to their continental breeding grounds and others disperse to breed in the UK. Males put on dramatic aerial displays, tumbling through the air, accompanied by their piercing 'peewit' call, which gives them their other, common name: peewit. Females can be spotted on their nests, which are simple scrapes in the mud or sand. By late spring, cute, fluffy lapwing chicks can be seen venturing out to forage. If the nest is threatened at all, the parents will attacked or 'mob' the potential predators.

Produced by the H&K British Division of Production, the LA401 is a widely produced and well-designed assault rifle issued to all European Union Assault Troops. Produced to be reliable, and accurate: the weapon has issues with being slightly heavy and bulky. The "Swordfish" also has issues with the HEDP shells being unreliable and failing to detonate when hitting the target, as a result the shell is currently being redesigned.
