These are some more shots of my Tour to Europe in Sept - Nov 2012. I has been a while since I last saw them.. great to be able to catch up on them at last!
Just arrived in Valencia on our Cosmos tour, October 15, 2012.
On a tour of the City of Arts and Sciences. It is an entertainment-based cultural and architectural complex in the city of Valencia, Spain. It is the most important modern tourist destination in the city of Valencia.
The City of Arts and Sciences is situated at the end of the former riverbed of the river Turia, which was drained and rerouted after a catastrophic flood in 1957. The old riverbed was turned into a picturesque sunken park.
Designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela, the project underwent the first stages of construction in July 1996 and the finished "city" was inaugurated April 16, 1998 with the opening of L'Hemisfèric. The last great component of the City of Arts and Sciences, El Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, was presented on October 9, 2005, Valencian Community Day.

To my Darkness and my Light,
I unfold myself; you, in turn, call to me with your warm and aching mouth— its tongue, a delicate command I will not long withstand.
Your lips spill sighs; I drink until your thirst is sated.
Trembling hands steady me beneath you. You guide me toward your deepest acceptance. I find a center in you; you grasp me and gasp.
(You shudder— hands bracing the afternoon light dying against such white walls. I see with the eye of god your ineffable Beauty. I fall and place this feeble kiss to caress the spine of your neck as I pass.)
With you I experience annihilations most will never know.
After I am restless; you know that what I want is what I will never manage alone— you coax from my every ending its next beginning.
We must map these new and nameless oblivions together.

Artist's Statement: "Making this camel helped to absorb my feelings of frustration, anger, and helplessness from the spring of 2003 (when the U.S. officially entered into war with Iraq) until I completed it, in January 2009 as glimmers of hope arrived with the inauguration of a new administration. As a girl growing up in the 1950s, my imagination was captured by what we now call the Middle East. Oil and Religion were not part of my daydreams. I fancied life as a Desert Nomad—traveling with a camel caravan on my spirited Arab stallion—enduring blistering heat, blinding sandstorms, and broken-promise mirages... Just in the nick of time, an Oasis would appear! Shaded by date palms, and offering cool water, the sweet song of birds, and the pungent aroma of exotic spices, I would rest in my spacious tent—resplendent with richly patterned rugs and ornaments of gold..."

ARTIST’S STATEMENT
The process of transforming paint and other materials into images continues to compel and challenge me. Over the years, that process has led me from ceramics, photography, drawing and painting, and most recently to pursue experimental processes on paper. Painting fills me with a sense of serenity and integrity, and has proven a most reliable vehicle for translating inner vision to outer reality.
My abstract paintings explore the wonders of nature and beauty in our world. Personal symbols that have emerged through this process include; the Turtle (wisdom/grace), the Dragonfly (metamorphosis/change) and the Tree (steadfastness/beauty).
I use a variety of different paints/media (oil pastel, ink, acrylic, latex, gouache, and wood) and yet I am always drawn back to water colors for their unpredictable nature and their transparency.
I paint from the inside out. Focusing on the sensation and context of my experience. I work deliberately, employing both traditional and innovative techniques, while letting the uncertain nature of painting free my hand. My paintings are finished when they are able to convey a moment or sensation, as well as what I am feeling.
I am avaiable to do commisions and private art lessons also.

"On Saturday, May 11th, Occupy the Farm peacefully marched onto the Gill Tract to challenge the UC’s renewed plans for private, commercial development of this public agricultural resource, replacing 5-foot high weeds with thousands of squash, kale, basil, corn, lettuce and tomato plants, and even flowers.
Rather than recognizing this as an opportunity to position itself on the cutting edge of urban agriculture and participatory research, the University raided the farm on Monday, May 13, at 4:30 a.m. and violently arrested four peaceful farmers, three of whom were held for more than 60 hours before being released without charge. The University then ploughed over the farm that morning, destroying thousands of starts that, if nurtured, would have provided sustenance to local communities.
“This land has been vacant for years,” said an Occupy the Farm member, Matthew McHale, “the UC only destroyed the crops because it’s afraid that if the community sees what an amazing asset this would be as a community farm, they would refuse to let it be paved over.”
In protest of the UC’s actions, more than eighty farmers and community members re-converged on Monday afternoon for a rally, then marched back onto the farm to replant the field and recover some of the starts they had planted over the weekend. The University plowed the farm again Tuesday morning.
Since Occupy the Farm first planted on the Gill tract in April 2012, the group has organized at least 10 public forums focused on the Gill Tract as an asset to community-driven participatory research. The UC Berkeley administration has consistently failed to attend, despite being invited repeatedly. Students on campus however, support turning the land into an urban farm; last Spring the Associated Students of the University of California Senate unanimously passed a resolution in support of Occupy the Farm."

Following are the official statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at the start of their meeting today:
Prime Minister Netanyahu:
"I want to welcome Secretary Clinton once again to Jerusalem. I want to thank President Obama, you and the American government, and the people, for their strong support for Israel in this hour of need.
I want to also thank you especially for your support of Iron Dome. It has been saving lives, and we are in a battle to save lives. One of the things that we are doing is trying to resist and counter a terrorist barrage which is aimed directly at our civilians and doing so by minimizing civilian casualties, whereas the terrorist enemies of Israel are doing everything in their power to maximize the number of civilian casualties. Obviously, no country can tolerate a wanton attack on its civilians.
Now if there is a possibility of achieving solution to this problem through diplomatic means, we prefer that, but if not, I'm sure you understand that Israel will have to take whatever action is necessary to defend its people.
This is something that I don't have to explain to Americans. I know that President Obama, you and the American people understand that perfectly well, and I thank you once again for your support. Welcome to Jerusalem."
Secretary of State Clinton:
"Thank you very much, Prime Minister. I look forward to a productive discussion this evening at such a critical moment for Israel and the region.
President Obama asked me to come to Israel with a very clear message: America's commitment to Israel's security is rock solid and unwavering.
That is why we believe it is essential to de-escalate the situation in Gaza. The rocket attacks from terrorist organizations inside Gaza on Israeli cities and towns must end and a broader calm restored. The goal must be a durable outcome that promotes regional stability and advances the security and legitimate aspirations of Israelis and Palestinians alike.
President Obama has emphasized these same points in his multiple conversations with President Morsi of Egypt and we appreciate President Morsi's personal leadership and Egypt's efforts thus far.
As a regional leader and neighbor, Egypt has the opportunity and responsibility to continue playing a crucial and constructive role in this process. I will carry this message to Cairo tomorrow. I will also be consulting with President Abbas in Ramallah.
Let me also say, to echo the Prime Minister, I am very pleased that the Iron Dome defense system is performing so well. Our partnership and support of this system represents America's enduring commitment to the safety and security of the Israeli people, and to Israel's right to defend itself.
But no defense is perfect, and our hearts break for the loss of every civilian, Israeli and Palestinian, and for all those who have been wounded or who are living in fear and danger, I know today was a difficult day, and I offer my deepest condolences to the loved ones of those who were lost and injured.
In the end, there is no substitute for security and for a just and lasting peace, and the current crisis certainly focuses us on the urgency of this broader goal. So in the days ahead, the United States will work with our partners here in Israel and across the region toward an outcome that bolsters security for the people of Israel, improves conditions for the people of Gaza and moves towards a comprehensive peace for all people of the region, and I thank you, Prime Minister, for your hospitality and look forward to our discussion."

Below is a statement supplied to Snapperjack Media London by ( British Egyptians )
*********************************************************************************************
Today 22nd of February 2015
We handed a Petition to 10 Downing Street and we Held a Demontration at Marble Arch and infront of Quatar Embassy .
We distribute a flyer with the petition and the photo of the Slaughter of our brothers in Lybia
“We Will Conquer Rome”
“ A Message Signed with Blood to the Nations of the Cross.”
Another Wake-up Call by the Terrorist Jihadists
The grotesque video which was released by the terrorist group Islamic State (ISIS) of the slaughter of 21 Egyptian workers in Libya, who had been kidnaped in the costal town of Sirte and subsequently beheaded on the15th of February 2015.
There is a sense of “ déjà vu ” for us here in the UK. In 2007 there was a plot to behead a British Muslim Soldier and in 2013 the shock of the beheading of Lee Rigby in the streets of Woolwich in broad daylight was evident for all to see. In addition, the recent plot to behead a British soldier by a teenager has featured in the press. The terrorist attacks of 7/7 and others are potent reminders of this evil.
On 8th of February 2015, Muslim Action Forum’s protesters in Whitehall held Al-Qaeda flags at the door steps of Downing Street .
Mr.Cameron, all British Egyptians appreciate your noble gesture for expressing your personal and official condolences for the murder of the Egyptian guest workers during your phone call to Bishop Angelos of the Coptic Church , as they were Coptic Christians. You rightly stated that these actions are unacceptable by the principles we live by in this country.
Although they were Christians, there is no difference between them and all of the other Egyptians killed by the Muslim Brotherhood ranging from the Police, Army Soldiers and Civilians : Christian and Muslim as we consider them all equal Egyptian martyrs.
During the rampage of terror by the Brotherhood and it’s terrorist offspring which include Al-Queda, Hamas, Boco Haram and ISIS where the killing and rape of innocents, destruction of property and livelihoods, places of worship; mosques and 80 churches in Egypt and yet their Headquarters reside here in London .
Although these people call themselves Muslims, they have nothing to do with any religion, they are ,maniacs. A lot of people all over the world are now fear these terrorists who are everywhere and have been supported directly and indirectly by many countries.
There is an urgent call for the World to wake up and unite .
We are not fighting a physical invasion but a rapidly spreading jihadist ideology among all ages. They are brain washed and blind folded and every one of them is ready to die as a suicide bomber by a press of a button. They are everywhere in the world spreading like cancer.
What we have seen till now is only the tip of the iceberg. We are pleading that the UK join all the forces of the world to jointly fight terrorism with Egypt, otherwise it will be a disaster for all of us.
Signed : British Egyptians.
The Mission Statement. Words to live by for the year.

We were only to make one visit to the Sherwood Forest Faire this year but we tried to make the most of it. It was great seeing and shooting with old friends and meeting new people. Thanks to all the people that let me shoot with them.
Sherwood is about 40 miles SE of Austin; the Faire runs 8 weekends from February to April. It's not as big as the Texas Renaissance Festival but it is a blast to attend. Good people and entertainment.
I took these photos on 12 March 2016 - I think it was Week 5 at Sherwood.

I haven't uploaded anything in a whole long time, which is a shame, especially considering the amount of views I gained following my feature on Strobist.
Being featured on Strobist was awesome, and I can't tell you how grateful I was for David's support and everybody on the blog's. I really feel like the 200 or so days that I did my 365 for were responsible for some incredible changes in me as a photographer... and in my values, too!
I went through a little bit of a rough patch recently, just feeling a little burnt out, but I plan to post more frequently now. I've got a lot of awesome ideas, shoots to edit through, and set-ups for you all to learn from!
As well, I'm planning on kickstarting my business soon(working on business cards, a website, and a blog)!
Thank you for your support, everyone! I've come far, I feel, and I plan on going farther.
Merry Christmas. :)

As for this shoot: It was sooo stressful. We went in to a little family-managed graveyard that borders my neighborhood, and beyond being scared we'd get the cops called on us by our nosey neighbors, we had a difficult time getting over the fence (my dad and I) especially with all the gear, but I feel the results are good!
This mini-series' purpose: to show morally questionable situations wherein the antagonist is questioning its actions. The orb is a visual representation of the antagonist's contemplation or enlightenment. I've got a couple more in mind! I hope you like it! Tell me what you think.
