BR 4MT 75014, re-numbered as scrapped Stoke-based classmate 75035, passes Longshaw Farm during a 30742 Charters events at the Churnet Valley Railway.

Back in time once again....to late afternoon on Friday 4th October 2019, where we see 'Resplendent' BR Riddles Designed Standard Class 5MT 4-6-0 No. 73156 scurry through Swithland Sidings, Great Central Railway (GCR) en route to firstly Rothley with the ex Loughborough 15.30pm passenger service for Leicester North.
The vivid and contrasting colours captured by the bright 'Autumnal Sunlight' are further enhanced by the 'Dramatic Sky'.

Looking back through some old pictures, we see CSX Q640, a Cumberland, Maryland to Buffalo, New York mixed freight, rolling east through Perry, Ohio with a standard cab C40-8, CSX 7552, leading the way. A fresh, soft snow had just finished falling about 30 minutes before Q640 rolled through, causing them to kick up a good amount of snow behind them.
Groundhog Day 2008 found me outside Lafayette, IN a short while before sunset. Here, the warm late day sun shines on C40-9 8792 as it leads 17J west. Catching a standard cab Dash-9 on point was always good and the fact that it was leading one of my favorite trains at the time made it all the better. 17J normally was a solid train of 86' auto parts boxcars.
This location just west of Buck Creek has changed greatly since this day in 2008. The construction of the Hoosier Heartland Highway just to the north of the tracks has altered the scene greatly. I believe this crossing in now an overpass above the tracks and highway.
BR Standard Class 4MT 80078 steams towards High Rocks Halt during a 30742 Charters event. This was a recreation of the type of train that worked on this route at the end of BR steam in the 1960s.

Cesky Krumlov is a little town located in the Czech Republic and UNESCO World Heritage Site. I have been there while the annual "Five-Petalled Rose Celebrations" took place. The town celebrates the renaissance age with a lot of people wearing costumes.

BR Caprotti Standard Class '5MT' No. 73127 of Patricroft MPD (9H) lifts a mixed freight out of Walton Old Junction, Warrington, circa 1966. It was withdrawn from Patricroft depot in November 1967.

Standard 4 mogul 76079 plods up the bank from grosmont to goathland making quite a sound in the process at Beck hole
66134 rolls through the glorious Shropshire countryside at Wistanstow with 6V75 0931 Dee Marsh-Margam steel empties. The Long Mynd hill above Church Stretton is prominent in the background.
Ivatt Class 2 46521 makes a rousing departure from Loughborough with the 13;45 to Leicester. The Ivatt was a late substitute for Standard 5 73084 which had brake issues earlier in the day.

It's 19.20 & the second day of the Winter Gala is finished, my engine (73156) has been bedded down, I've signed off and I'm heading for the gate but looking back British Railways Standard 2 2-6-0 78019 just cries out for a photo!
