A nice standard-cab consist on this particular afternoon's version of Bloomington-to-Decatur train D36, including SD40E 6329 (ex-CR SD50 6762) and GP60 7108, seen approaching the north end of the siding at Lodge, Illinois. For the time being, the former Wabash searchlights still stand here and a few other places on this, Norfolk Southern's Bloomington District.

80080 BR Standard Class 4 2-6-4T
Waiting to depart Ramsbottom station with an early morning passenger service in August 2015, highly regarded 80080 is pictured at work on the East Lancs Railway. The popular locomotive was based in Lancashire for several years and was a regular performer during her time here.
A typical hot and muggy Pennsylvania summer afternoon greets a returning Altoona RailFest excursion as it cruises down grade past MG Tower in June of 2009. For a moment, one could almost believe this was still the "Standard Railroad of the World."

Gold Standard. Hmmm. I am always suspicious of self promotion. Best Burger in town, best coffee, pizza, poutine in town. These are statements, which I do not put much faith in. I did not try. They may be the best, but sometimes GS is just BS. This store is selling $6 sandwiches. Not expensive for Toronto, but nothing special, nothing I could not make at home.

80072 Standard 4 Class BR 2-6-4T
In the afternoon sunshine at Llangollen station, hard working Riddle’s tank 80072 is pictured taking on water before departing with the next passenger service to Carrog.
A triplet of CSX standard cabs, lead by CSX 8881, lead Q507 south past the B&O CPL at Troy, OH. Q507 takes the place of Q511, and makes the run from Detroit Rougemere to Cincinnati Queensgate, with blocks of cars bound for AK Steel.
Standard 5 73156 is seen at Kinchley lane working a Loughborough - Leicester North service during the Great Centrals last hurrah gala 19/11/22.

The JY local passes over the Hi Line Bridge in Valley City. Figured it would be worth a shot with the longer train this time around.

February 10, 2017: A pair of foreign visitors (BNSF ES44C4 GE, CN C40-8 GE standard cab) pull CSX Autorack / Freight Train Q237 (Detroit, MI-Baldwin, FL) down the old Western & Atlantic Subdivision at Emerson, GA on a beautiful Winter day in Dixie.
The Vanguard was Standard’s first all new car after World War II. Designed by Walter Belgrove it was based on the designs of American cars of the period. It has a 2088cc, 4 cylinder engine, a top speed of 78mph and cost £671 new. This 1948 Standard Vanguard, ONO 427, is on display in the Coventry Transport Museum.
