A rather inquisitive Squirrel in the church graveyard today.

Taken on my latest trip to London, whilst we were walking away from St. Paul's Cathedral we met a trio of happy squirrels! Extremely friendly bunch who were too happy to pose for a photo after being offered some wafers :) I love squirrels, they're so energetic and fun!

SQUIRRELS ,housed ....

This squirrel ponders the age old question, do I want to eat it now or bury it for later?

Right after I took this she went to raid the cherry tree.

St James Park, London, squirrels are so tame, they will come and take food out of your hand.

I had them sitting on my lap feeding off me

(more squirrel shots in my photostream and in the Squirrels! set)

This squirrel looked very healthy compared to the others.

This guy--or girl, maybe--was eating under the feeder. It's smaller than the other squirrels we've been seeing.

This grey squirrel was a little out of reach, but I went with the digital zoom to catch him. I know, I know, never use digital, only optical! But he was too cute to ignore! Sorry for the fuzziness.

This weekend must have been some sort of squirrel holiday because the entire community was out in full force both mornings. Not only were they in a really playful mood but they also brought down one of the youngsters from the only litter we had this year. This little sweetie was a bit nervous and jumpy and didn't venture out from safety too often, though I was still able to grab a few shots for you to enjoy. Due to the rampant fires raging not all that far from us, this mornings light had a strange diffused quality to it. We pray that all their relatives in these areas managed to escape safe and sound.

I know, we are not supposed to feed them. But how can you resist them. Look at it! :) Anyway, a small carrot hasn't hurt anybody ;)

Harvesting the acorns from the two trees in the back garden, and occasionally dropping them on our heads.

It was almost like the squirrels knew I was coming - they were waiting excitedly by the gate to the car park.

Got a few to pose on the cut tree that acts as my photo table - saves all the bending, age is such a wicked thing. lol
