Squirrel playing in an Oak Tree

This insistent little squirrel in Nottingham University Park was so excited to see the camera and so determined to have his picture taken that I could not refuse. Seeing I was willing but slow to get down to ground level he scampered up onto a bench, chattered until I followed him and posed obligingly, although his tail was never quite still.

In this shot I had to push my camera to ISO 1600 because the lack of light but I´m quite satisfied with the result and the performance of my beloved Nikon D40.

I got the following results on flickr's search

Squirrel : 700 thousand shots

chipmunk : 100 thousand shots

Must be a cliché...

I named this one Squirrely .......because he's just like the Stock Market....goes up and down and around in circles all day, and drives me nutty. Also found out that squirrely can also be correctly spelled squirrelly........hmmm........didn't know that , LOL, and I was an English teacher....I never thought much about it until I tried to write it for the title.......and it looked funny with two l's.......but, it's ok ! both are correct.

Back up at Kingussie today. Woke up this morning on the 1st day and the red squirrels are back!

Hoping to get some more snaps but got this little cheeky chap as a starter.
