11/09/2025. Cuxton, UK. The Princess of Wales during a visit to the Marina Mill in Cuxton, Kent, a family business that specialises in hand designing and screen- printing furnishing fabrics. The Princess spent time with Design Director Tandine Rawkins, and observed how she free-hand sketches all the artwork for every design. Her Royal Highness then moved to the printing room and had the opportunity to take part in screen-printing a design on fabric by pushing coloured dyes through an engraved silk-screen using a squeegee. The Princess also observed the last step in the production process where the printed fabric is fed through a conveyor oven, which heat-fixes the print to the basecloth. A squeegee is an important tool for a graphics installer. When applying heat, the squeegee is used to smooth out all the wrinkles and bubbles.

We encountered a very pissed off window cleaner on Bathurst. The guy was protecting his freshly wiped window with hard words and a squeegee. Later on, of the brighter zombies suggested that if he had known about the march, he might have wanted to _follow_ the pack, selling his services in the zombie's wake. He could have made a killing-- sorry. I mean cleaned up-- literally.
I made these by spreading paint with a squeegee over heavy watercolor paper. Then I cut the paper into 1" squares and mounted them to painted canvases. I love how the paint mixed.
Cleaning floor of bathroom. Squeegee with wet orange mop, bucket filled with lukewarm water and splash of all-purpose cleaner. Light effect.

Unfortunately I didn't realise how sensitive the surface of the film is and used an old squeegee ... squeezing as hard as I could!
Shot last night at an altitude of 350 feet, this is a massive 31-image panorama stitched together. Rather than crop out the white space, I decided to leave it as is. It's kind of a window in the air out onto Austin. Almost as if someone took a squeegee and wiped away the white to find this behind it. This overlooking the Rainey Street Historic District with Town Lake and downtown Austin in the distance.

Wallah, the final product. After sticking my image to the screen and pressing ink over it. I had used a squeegee to spread the ink, making sure not to waste any, and get a good thick layer down. The result is a gorgeous picture of yours ( a hippie), among a glorious warrior/retro setting with who she is splattered and questioned all over.

You can see a horizontal scratch through the middle-right - I think I need to stop squeegeeing my films, and rely more on rinse agent to prevent problems from the hard London water
Preparing a screen for printing using an artificial light source.
Screen printing is a printing technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil. In this case a light sensitive film coating has been applied to the screen prior to exposure to a light source. The processed stencil forms open areas of mesh that allows ink to be pressed through the mesh. A squeegee is moved across the screen stencil, forcing or pumping ink past the threads of the woven mesh in the open areas.
Screen printing is method of printmaking and is also known as silkscreen, seriography, or serigraph.
Printmaking has always been the poor relation of the art world. The print is something we traditionally buy as a reproduction of a serious piece of work (painting). The tradition of printing has evolved and the print maker maybe an … Continue reading →

Anna Gravelle works in textiles, with a particular skill in tufting making, for example tactile home furnishing. Sketches, photographs and objects are laid out for analysis (head). Then heart comes into play, seeking inspiration from the natural world – “perhaps the matt texture of a rock.” Recently Anna has been captivated by starling mumurations on the Somerset Levels. Then comes drawing, and patterns emerge for screen prints or tufted patterns on fabric. “My hands become a machine of making, guiding the fabric through the tufter or pulling the squeegee over the silk screen.” Tufting is worked on the back of a fabric and turning it over is a moment of pure joy – “magic and revelation.” Like many makers we talked to, words of praise especially make her heart sing. Making is solitary and introverted, so receiving recognition is all the more welcome.* follow me on Instagram

The quietest of my cats, Barrymore rarely makes a peep. I feel honored whenever he DOES "talk" to me! he says a lot with those baby blues of his, though, and despite his 20 lb. girth, is the only one of my cats who really loves being on my lap, being held!
More-More is also my bully boy. When I first brought him home as a tiny kitten, the first thing he did when he saw Squeegee, who was full grown, was to jump on his back and attack him! Nothing's changed. He still beats him up, and I have to defend Squeeks since he has health problems. He growls constantly at Tigger whenever he gets close, and refuses to forgive him for the spat they had when Tig deposited a claw in Barrymore's nose, which I found still attached! Barrymore is declawed, as is Squeeks, so Tig is the only one who can really use those lethal claws, lucky for them all. Barrymore would make mincemeat of the two of them if he had his!

Somewhere along the Pennsylvania Turnpike. We were having "bug issues," about which the less said the better.
Took a fair bit of effort to correct the verticals. Used Channel Mixer for the mono and then played with a hue/saturation layer underneath to get a tonal range I liked. If I could have got a silhouette of a smoker on a balcony it would have been perfect!
