Red kuri squash is thin skinned orange colored winter squash, that has the appearance of a small pumpkin without the ridges. It belongs to the Hubbard squash group. Inside the hard outer skin there is a firm flesh that provides a very delicate and mellow chestnut-like flavor. Makes a lovely orange winter soup!

 

Even though I have the tomato plants in here, this is where I planted the squash.

Squash and zucchini in a sauce of milk and gruyere with a touch of nutmeg, topped with breadcrumbs and fresh mozzarella cheese!

Yellow squash and zucchini...

 

Cut in long slices, marinate in Italian Salad dressing for about half hours and grill for a few minutes on each side... YUMMY!

Apparent stowaways in a packet of cantaloupe seeds. After last year's squash bugs, I never want to grow squash again!
