I often go boating with my son, Sean, as well as my husband, Gerry. Sean loves to find coconuts in the water and has planted 6 of them in my garden. The one in this picture is the only one that has sprouted which is very exciting. So we are hoping it grows into a fully fledged coconut tree! I love coconuts!!!
Three little hyacinth bulbs have sprouted since Christmas and one looks like it's going to burst into flower very soon!!

Cut off the butt ends of romaine lettuce and sweet onions, stuck them in some water.... et voila! I've had really good luck growing and harvesting the onions in outdoor pots. But the lettuce has been a bit too ornery.

Who doesn't love food? As a kid, I hated brussel sprouts. Now, I can't seem to get enough. My fave is roasted sprouts with olive oil, garlic, salt and a little squeeze o' lemon. Cheers!
5E38 Barton Under Needwood to Birmingham New Street catches the early morning light as it glides past redundant track panels and neatly stacked rails which have been lifted from Washwood Heath Up Sidings. I really liked the sleeper that had sprouted a tree.
There is downtown LA--sprouting like a growth, spreading like a weed on the surface of this valley. At least it was a surprisingly clear day, not too much smog to try to see through.

I planted some old pepper seeds in an egg carton a couple weeks back and closed it back up. Sometimes they germinate and sometimes they do not. So I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the carton and found these tiny sprouts springing to life and eager to leave the darkness of that egg carton and greet the abundant sunshine that warmed the day.
In a week or two they will shoot up and be too big to keep in the egg carton. Then they will get larger containers and spend more time on my sunny kitchen windowsill until it's time to get into this year's garden.
