When they noticed our cameras, they turned their heads away. I took the shot earlier... I think they are the workers's wives; during the hot & bored Saturday afternoon, their entertainment was to find the cool place under the bridge to enjoy and chat...

Shanghai Summer Street Snapshot series #2
After a coffee in Princes Risborough, I decided to head back south to High Wycombe. The next bus was the more direct 130, operated by MX09HHN.
I was the only person boarding, and indeed the last passenger to board the service before it arrived in High Wycombe, so maybe four buses on the core section of the Aylesbury-Wycombe corridor is a bit excessive?
This made for a rapid journey and the well travelled E200 is seen parked up opposite High Wycombe Bus Station.
It was new to MK Metro, but has since toured much of the country with spells in Glasgow and Manchester. Looking at photos on Flickr it’s worn most colours of the rainbow too. 24.10.24.
This tiny mummy is the remains of what has been called an "Oak Tree Sprite". It was discovered in the summer of 1858 just outside of Natchez, Mississippi. It was found in a hollow spot in an ancient oak tree that had been cut down for the following winter's fire wood. It was called Oak Tree Sprite not only because it was found in one, but because of some of its features. These little creatures had evolved to mimic their surroundings very well to avoid discovery. Its wings mimic oak leaves and its hair looks like the moss that grows on the tree's trunk. The sprite was mounted in a jar for preservation purposes.
(Please Note: The back story is for fun. This is in fact a piece of gaff art that I spent a good deal of time on. The jar is a vintage Atlas mason jar.

The fairies in the fairy garden will be moving weekly, according to the sign. It will be interesting to see how they're posed from week to week.
It's DONE! Handmade - specifically cut to progress the grain of the scale pattern. I'm so in love with it.
