Paper daisies in early spring with their insect visitors are always a welcome sight.

This is a leaf rolling weevil on the flower. Apparently the leaf rolling weevil is believed to have a fungal antibiotic in the glue used to seal their eggs into a rolled leaf egg chamber to protect their eggs.

I'm sorry for being MIA all week. It's just been one of those awful weeks when I just want to drop everything and go chill on a beach somewhere. I did get some quality time with my 3 week old nephew yesterday though (I'm lucky that my oldest brother and his little family live really close to me, so I'm there every opportunity I get). He's such a cutie pie and I'm a seriously proud auntie! Being with him and my sister in law totally brightened up my week. :D

In one frame, everything Springtime came together for me one morning in April. Spring buds were just starting on the bare trees as a farmer tilled his field. The spring planting was only a couple weeks away for what would be the August corn crop. In the distance, Shippensburg school students wrapping up the Spring semester wait at the crossing while a Norfolk Southern train passed through on the Lurgan Branch. Spring means ballast trains are running again, hauling stone cars to and from the quarry in Birdsboro, PA for track projects across the rail network.

Shot during another outing with my new old Japanese Dukane projector lens. I have it rigged so it functions as a close-up lens. I'm trying to determine if it was worth the effort to rig it so It would fit on my Sony camera.

The fruit trees and ornamental fruit trees are the only thing blooming right now here in bone-dry Santa Fe. It has not snowed any significant amount all winter and has not rained either since the calendar turned to spring. I think all the plants are struggling right now. Here and there you can find some Daffodils but that is about it.

Taken last spring, these delightful buds are from the Crabapple tree in our front yard. I can't wait to see them flowering again in a couple months!
