Spent a few days brainstorming ways to simplify a document distribution process. Suddenly, this afternoon, an elegantly simple solution evolved and saved many hours of wasted time, and unnecessary application development.
We know that the way to find velocity on a position time graph is to take the slope. Ideally we would find a function that would give us the slope at every point along the (t,y) graph. This is called calculus. We can get an approximate function by taking the slope between consecutive data points. Examine the formula that's been typed in here (in maroon). It looks scary. But you'll see it's just the slope formula.
Spreadsheets on my mind, I guess. If I were to take this again, I'd probably do so without the angle, but I'll get back to the Big Apple sooner or later. Hmm, it kinda looks like Manhattan's street grid too.
