Spread for my Solar Cell/Grid Electricity article i found. I wanted to imitate the shape of solar panels within the article, so i took my columns and changed the shape; the headline matches as well. I was really fighting this one because i just plain ran out of inspiration. I had to drop the other spreads i was working on to focus on this one. Ping suggested i put large text in the background. I think it worked out fairly well. I went through countless color combinations and settled on yellow for the 'solar' and blue for the 'grid'. I put in the forward slashes to compliment the slanted columns and the style of the table of contents page.

Since 1554, when the Reformation spread from Bern to Grandson, this church is the Evangelical Reformed parish church of the small, quaint town at the banks of the Lake Neuchâtel.
Most of the structure seen today was erected after 1178, when the lords of Grandson had founded a Benedictian priory,dependent on La Chaise-Dieu in the Auvergne, about 400kms southwest.
Inside the nave facing east to the gothic choir. It seems, that the iconoclasms of the Swiss Reformation did not harm the church, all capitels are "in situ" and intact. Most of the column shafts are - Roman! They were probably hauled to Grandson for recycling from the vast ruins of Aventicum the Roman capital of the Swiss area during Vespasian´s time. Today "Avenches" is a small town about 40kms east on the other side of the lake.
The church is extremly well preserved and very tastefully furnished.
This is by far the strangest (and so most interesting) capital in Grandson. While most other capitals are carved very masterly, this one seems rough. Only three sides are visible. It is populated by a group of strange, grimacing people, who show their teeth or tongue.
This makes clear, that the person is not performing a strange bavarian dance. He is a "spinario", trying to pull a thorn out of his naked foot. Ray ("adfinem") recently uploaded a very elegant "spinario" and published some excellent information, so follow the link below - and compare them.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxYouth@Hollywood, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxYouth@Hollywood event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
What is TEDxYouth@Hollywood ?
TEDxYouth@Hollywood is a day-long conference for Southern Californian youth aged 14-19. The event features inspiring people with mind, heart and spirit-expanding stories and ideas to share.
The theme of our inaugural event is JUMPING; as in, jumping into something new, exciting, fearful or inspirational. We are interested in igniting the imaginations of youth and the concept of jumping just for the fun of jumping!
Our presenters are a mix of youth, young adults and established professionals in their fields which run the gamut from entertainment to non-profit, education and business. As our theme promises, we will present a few surprises as well.
