Day # 2
Not much for green or growth yet. Grass is starting to turn green in the last couple days. Went on a backyard hunt while the baby slept and found some weeds. Haha. Got some inspiration from the chickens who now come out more often and take dust baths in the sun. Loving feeling the sun on my face.
Third spread: Space & Travel. I like how Janine (of UPPERCASE) added the fun illustrations from Peter Plasencia's Space Alphabet on the left there. Very nice.
AKA speculoos spread. It's a spread made out of COOKIES. It's like Nutella, only it tastes like a spicy cookie!
I just couldn’t believe how close I could get to those puffins! I felt like an obnoxious fashion photographer. “Spread those wings! Just once! C’mon! That’s right—just like that! All of you, look this way, all at once!”
Látrabjarg is the largest bird cliff in Iceland and is considered one of the most magnficient cliffside nesting areas in the World. It has been estimated that the bird population reaches about one million in early summer. Ten species of seabirds nest on Látrabjarg, with the most common being the guillemot, Brunnich's guillemot, razorbilled auk, puffin, fulmar, and kittiwake.
Látrabjarg is 8.6 miles long and shows a cross section of the lava layers that built up in the flat area Vestfjarðaslétta about 13-14 million years ago. These are the oldest strata in Iceland.
I did keep my distance from the cliff edge and, more times than not, respected the chalk barrier line drawn in my sand. I didn’t attempt any feet-dangling photos because there were signs saying that the cliff edge was unstable and, more importantly, it was windy as hell. It would’ve been SO easy to get blown over the edge.
Keeping my lens dry in the wind and rain was difficult, but for the most part I managed. It stopped raining just as I descended the cliffs. Of course.
“A smile starts on the lips,
A grin spreads to the eyes,
A chuckle comes from the belly;
But a good laugh bursts forth from the soul,
Overflows, and bubbles all around.”

The tractor range covering the middles spread of the Claas Tractors, the ARION 600 has a 6.8 litre 6-cylinder engine with power outputs between 96 and 118 kW. There are other Arion 500 and 400 models with 4.5 litre, 4-cylinder power between 75 and 103 kW.
The wheelbase is 2,820 mm (ARION 400 - 2560mm). The height of the ARION 600 is approximately 3 metres. This tractor weighs approximately 6,000 kg. The ARION 400 and 500 are approximately 5,000 kg.
I built a water carting trailer for this model, but it looked pathetic, so I have not included it in the photographs. Unfortunately, Australia had been locked in drought for a number of yeears, and carting wtaer had become a neccesity for far too many farmers to keep their animals alive. Fortunatel the drought has now ended for most areas in the country.
This Claas ARION 600 has been modelled in Lego bricks for Flickr LUGNuts 37th Build Challenge - 'The Food We Eat' celebrating vehicles used in the production or distribution of food, or just with funny food derived names.
I have chosen to build the Claas ARION 600, after driving past the Claas distribution centre in Laverton (Melbourne), Victoria, and admiring their lovely lime green colour. Further research has highlighted the supreme capability the Claas Tractor range is capable of.
Hallowzine is, you guessed it, a Halloween-themed zine. Clever, right? This is a collaborative project between myself and the typemaster-flex Chris Piascik. Hallowzine is jam-packed with original/never-before-seen drawings, some by Chris, some by me and a bunch that we worked together on!
Each zine features a screen-printed cover and was constructed by our hands! It's only $8!
Hallowzine was printed in an edition of 50.
