I often wonder about the lives of the nuns: how much loneliness they experience? (or maybe they have rich community life). How difficult it is to give up sexual life? Intimacy with a spouse? Parenthood? To what extent their faith compensates the lack of the aforementioned? What caused one to choose such a unique and devoted way of life?

This shot shows the private room at the Harvest Restaurant at Thanksgiving Point where we had the wedding lunch for Heidi and Jackson. Heidi's dad came with a well prepared speech. That forced me to stand up and say a few words. I'll try to reproduce them here since Flickr has become my spot for saving memories. (Said while weeping): "It occurs to me that we choose to love our spouses but we are obligated to love our children. It is intrinsic and we can't help it. Because of this, Jackson was the first person I loved at first sight. He's a complicated person, but I've never seen him happier than when he's with Heidi. So I don't worry about them. When he was little, I used to read to him every night and before I left his room I would say, 'We'll always be best friends.' Now Heidi, I surrender that title to you. He's your problem now."

As a young girl St Cecilia made the vow of virginity because she wanted to be a Spouse of Christ and belong totally to Jesus! Thus she was willing to die a martyr's death for the sake of her virginity consecrated to Christ.
We pray today for all women who are so consecrated to Jesus, especially the Dominican Sisters of St Cecilia in Nashville, TN.
