Aly and I were enjoying a quiet evening walking along the southbank. The atmosphere was perfect (although a bit cold) and the lighting was perfect for some pretty cool portraits.
in a processing 'funk' again... dozens of pics waiting, just not feelin' it.... a couple of days away may help ;-)

Do you get the feeling I drink coffee at a lot of dimly skylit coffee shops with glazed cups and dark wood?
The subject of this image was actually some branches above the pond. I ruthlessly cropped them out to let the background take the leading role.
This is a black and white split tone photograph where the highlights have an orange tint and the shadows have a blue tint.

A wonderful tutorial on how i created the water reflection.
lucidlook.blogspot.com/2009/09/how-to-create-water-reflec...
Firstly i created the image with brushes, layers & scripts within gimp, next i followed the tutorial to create the water reflection, my only addition to the tutorial was using the rectangle select tool to the bottom half of the image and applying the "Split tone" plug-in from script-fu and adjusting the tone colour to a "blue wash" to give it a more tonal water appearance, then adding gaussian blur radius: HT 8.0 Vert 8.0. finally adding the border from the FX foundry to finish the image..i'm pleased with the finished result, even more pleased with the new found gimp brushes..:)

A Misty Early Morning across Singapore on 28th October 2011.
This photograph aims to display the layering created by mist that sets to vaguely display the vegetations and the vaguely visible buildings silhouettes.
Original concept is to create a HDRI, but somehow HDRI doesn't work nicely for the scene due to extreme exposures which affected the colours. In any case, the objective is layering, hence I decided to use split tones to create the mood.
I also wanted to use a narrow cropping to display the layers across the horizon. I'm fortunate where my home situated in a position that allows me to capture such a nice morning scene.
