Part Of The Full Picture Challenge

It seems like my main subject lately is barns in the snow. I decided to take a break (don't fret-I've got more) and found this from last spring. I didn't post it before because I think everyone who travels up the north shore of Lake Superior has walked down to the rocky beach where I was standing and has taken a similar photo.

Shipwrecks from a mighty 1905 November gale prompted this rugged landmark's construction. Completed by the U.S. Lighthouse Service in 1910, Split Rock Light Station soon became one of Minnesota's best known landmarks. Restored to its 1920s appearance, the light station offers a glimpse of lighthouse life in this remote and spectacular setting. sites.mnhs.org/historic-sites/split-rock-lighthouse

Leonardslee Gardens Sculpture Park & Art Gallery showcases the artist’s contemporary sculpture and life works. This includes several monumental pieces, in harmony with the woodland gardens, positioned by the artist himself to create new vistas across the valley and our seven lakes.

I couldn't visit the North Shore without stopping off at this iconic lighthouse

Split Rock Lighthouse State Park

Two Harbors, Minnesota

Split Rock Lighthouse State Park, located on the North Shore of Lake Superior, is known for its historic, picturesque lighthouse and scenic trails along the shoreline. The park was established in 1945 and is a popular destination for camping, hiking, and stunning views of the lake. The lighthouse beacon is lit annually on November 10 to commemorate the sinking of the freighter Edmund Fitzgerald in 1975. This is the only night of the year when visitors can climb the tower after dark to see the lit beacon.

Prompt: Create an Ultra-realistic digital fine art of Split Rock Lighthouse in Two Harbors, Minnesota, depicted in accurate detail from the reference photo. The iconic lighthouse with its tan brick tower and black lantern stands atop a dramatic cliff overlooking Lake Superior. Beside the tower, the red-roofed keeper’s house and adjoining structures are rendered with precise architectural details. The rugged cliff face drops steeply to the blue expanse of the lake, which stretches calmly into the horizon under a clear sky tinged with soft hues of early evening light. Dense green forests extend inland, creating a natural contrast against the rock and water. Style: Ultra-realistic, digital fine art Mood: Majestic, serene, historic, timeless Lighting: natural daylight Aspect Ratio: Horizontal Quality: Museum-quality fine detail, no noise, no grain

This digital fine art was created using OpenAI Sora AI and Photoshop

Split Rock Lighthouse as seen from the side of the highway. This was the closest we could get to it as the surrounding trails were closed for the season and we were in a rush (it's also the best I could do with my humble little lens while standing on a park bench). Split Rock has got to be one of the most famous lighthouse's on the North Shore and was even featured in this months edition of Outdoor Photographer Magazine ( www.outdoorphotographer.com/content/2007/nov/just_right2.... ). I'd like to make a trek back here in the summer and get a closer look at this location, possibly around sunrise.

Split, Croatia, view of the harbor after a departing rainstorm on a spring afternoon, the low light image was taken from the balcony of my apartment, the others from sea level earlier in the afternoon. Happy weekend to everyone.
