i've only had this splinter in my thumb for 2 days, but it got infected and hurt like hell. tonight i went out and bought some tweezers, some hydrogen peroxide, and some neosporin. i used my stove to sanitize my nail scissors and cut into the wound, cleaned it with the hydrogen peroxide, then dug out the splinter with the tweezers. wrapped up by slathering the cut with neosporin and band-aiding it. sweet relief!
I take no credit whatsoever for shooting this splendid photograph...I only take credit for messing around with it.
