This is one of 27 Christmas cards I made this year. I splatter painted mirror paper with three different shades of green paint to make the tree. The letters are plastic.

"For example, a device transmitting a sine wave produces a single peak in the frequency spectrum; however, if the device abruptly starts or stops transmitting this sine wave, it will emit noise at frequencies other than the frequency of the sine wave. This noise is known as spectral splatter." - wikipedia

Heavy rain is here. Our elementary school must have a gutter problem because this was coming down from the roof. My phone is supposedly splash proof, and I put it to the test to capture this.

Still playing in photoshop.

This is a really easy recipe and the last step is optional:

Wash one pint of blueberries and remove any stems.

Put the blueberries in a sauce pan over medium heat on the stove.

Add about 1/3 cup sugar.

Let simmer until the juice comes out of the berries. Stir as needed.

Add 1 1/2 tsp pectin and simmer for another 10 minutes to thicken.

Optional:

Check the burners to see that your other dishes are not burning. Simultaneously turn and lower your elbow so it catchs the handle of the blueberry pot and splatters decoratively.

Be sure to wear close toed shoes.

Tribute to Clive Barker, Stephen King and all the others from the horror section ...

No, this is not blood, this is chocolate sauce + Photoshop :-)

The brand: "Schokoladensauce mit feinem Kakao" from Schwartau (looks better than it tastes ...). Some comments:

1.

I had to put plate and chocolate sauce in the freezer to keep the sauce from melting too fast. Anyway: You have to shoot *really* quick.

2.

The "splatter shots" are done on plates, the "hand shots" are done by pressing a chocolate sauce covered hand on paper (it did not look good on a plate, too blurred).

This isn't computer generated... any guesses? :)
