Showing signs of a bird strike somewhere along the journey on the coupling hatch, LNER 800102 arrives at Carlisle with the 1E21 1342 Edinburgh - London Kings Cross via the Tyne Valley line.
The Hitachi bi-modes seem narrower and higher than I expected - quite a large gap and step up at the platform

Found art - paint splashed by a graffiti artist (or vandal?) on the side of the Plimsoll Swing Bridge at Cumberland Basin, Bristol Harbour.
Last year it was filled with bamboo grass. This year I added wave petunias.

A erupting volcanic crater in southwest Iceland.
This small crater is a splatter cone -- a steep volcanic crater formed when molten lava splatters and solidifies around a volcanic vent.
"Sleepy Parrot - Splatter" by Patti Deters. This colorful Macaw Parrot (Ara macao) is a bit sleepy as you can see from her eye half closed (half open?). Macaws are one of the largest of the parrot species, easily identified by their bright primary-colored feathers and long tails. They are one of the more intelligent of the parrot species and crave social interaction. These tropical birds are native to North and South America and can make rewarding, though challenging, pets.

Spot Splatter Splash spent the day in her studio working on this fantastic piece of art!
I just love SSS...she is tied with Peanut Big Top as my favorite Lala! As a bonus... she was sewn on my birthday, 10/25, which we share with Picasso!
As another side note, this painting was actually painted by my two kids today. My daughter wanted to recreate one of my son's paintings he did when he was 2 or under which she thinks is the best work of art ever created!
Detail from part of the Plimsoll Swing Bridge over the harbour in Bristol - where a graffiti 'artist' (or vandal) had splashed paint across the structure. Just liked the way the purple paint and the row of bolts neatly came together on the 'third'...
Wax, metal, heat, & rust make this texture, randomly created during encaustic painting process. This is a macro photo of a fragment of a 2'x3' sheet of metal used to extinguish the burning wax. The process creates random shapes and textures in a multitude of colors, though blue predominates. Some photos may look like maps or galaxies, others are more abstract.

Prompts: Painting of a lovely sweet pretty smiling young girl with her face painted in a beautiful and unusual way. Striking use of color, brush strokes and sparkles. Colorful liquid oil paint, swirling paint and splashes.
