As a "real" New Yorker of 10 years - certain spectacles never interest. After all, the first piece of new york socialization is indifference and a carefully coifed air of "that is not new NOR particularly interesting. And yet today, while deciding on how to break the war between idleness and ambition I found myself in Union Square. Spectacle. By Union Sq. standards "break dancers" are not particularly noteworthy (for instance their competition was with a guy who was offering to sit on your face. . .no. . .no irony there). Today I decided to disavow myself of my cynicism and. . .watch. The dancers seemed to be enjoying themselves (good for them) - yet what was more interesting to me (for they weren't particularly. . .good) was the army of cameras. I mean from prosumer canon rebels with "impressive" view finders, and stabilizers and. . .grips. . .(nar a flash in site), to Iphones, to Droids to, Ipod minis (before apple reneged) . . .
It was. . .well. . . mesmerizing.
I wonder what people do with all that footage?
i missed so many good photos! if i don't edit within a week, i completely forget about any photos i've taken.

The Spectacles is comprised of two closely space, similar sized arches known as North Window and South Window. These arches are the namesakes of the Windows Section of Arches National Park, Utah.
One off the bucket list. May be not the most spectacular display of the Aurora Borealis ever but as seen from my static caravan balcony at Cellardyke. The handle of the constellation The Plough are the bright stars visible through the aurora.
I got new glasses yesterday - behind them are a selection of the pairs I have had since 2001 when I started to need them. I think there is a pair missing, but just the one.
My new pairs are the identical frame to the previous pair, just a different prescription. I now can't read without them!
