Out walking Poppy and Riley along Half Moon Bay, this little fella popped up to say hello. Never took his eyes off the ball once! Beautiful looking dog.

A very well trained dog. While its master talked to us it just lay at his feet.

"Rugeley Old Quarry" "Cannock Chase" Staffordshire

20th March 2025.

It was a long hard walk, but so worth it.

The tallest of the AKC's spaniels, the Irish Water Spaniel is instantly recognizable by its crisply curled coat and tapering 'rat tail.' Among the champion swimmers of dogdom, the alert and inquisitive IWS is hardworking and brave in the field, and playfully affectionate at home.

Well no one said that spaniels were very bright. Photo taken through the window.

Our 8-week-old working cocker spaniel puppy 2 hours after we had brought her to our house from the breeders. She settled in quick!

A dignified and mellow hunting companion of kings, the Clumber Spaniel is the largest of the AKC flushing spaniels. For those who can handle some shedding and drooling, the amiable Clumber is an amusing best friend and a gentlemanly housemate. Clumber Spaniels are powerful bird dogs of heavy bone, built long and low, with a massive head.

This lovely cocker spaniel belongs to a friend.

that's not a cigar in her mouth but a bird's wing. For the squeamish the bird was dead before Molly got hold of it!

Went to Basingstoke shopping for KP's imminent 16th Birthday. These days she comes shopping with us and chooses what she wants. We oldies have no fashion sense, she doesn't tell us this but the look on her face when you point to an item of clothing, says it for her ...

In the shopping centre we saw this six month old Springer Spaniel. She will soon start training to be a Police sniffer dog ...

She wouldn't sit still and was very affectionate ...

Day 7 of 365 Project

Teasel a young Springer bitch waiting patiently for her dinner. Our older Spaniels have since taught her to shuffle & wriggle while she waits.

About the Breed

The merry and frolicsome Cocker Spaniel, with his big, dreamy eyes and impish personality, is one of the world's best-loved breeds. They were developed as hunting dogs, but Cockers gained their wide popularity as all-around companions. Those big, dark eyes; that sweet expression; those long, lush ears that practically demand to be touched'no wonder the Cocker spent years as America's most popular breed. The Cocker is the AKC's smallest sporting spaniel, standing about 14 to 15 inches. The coat comes in enough colors and patterns to please any taste. The well-balanced body is sturdy and solid, and these quick, durable gundogs move with a smooth, easy gait. Cockers are eager playmates for kids and are easily trained as companions and athletes. They are big enough to be sporty, but compact enough to be portable. A Cocker in full coat rewards extra grooming time by being the prettiest dog on the block. These energetic sporting dogs love playtime and brisk walks.

I am still drawing, although probably a bit less in summer than in winter. He's one I started a little while ago and finished recently.

A chocolate labrador and a black spaniel playing with one toy on a steep garden slope.

It is the spaniels toy.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.

Happy weekend

Greetings Caroline and the farm animals
