I got those sround 4 x 2 brown things in a trade with one of my friends IRL. I had no idea how I could use them until now.
Painted the Landspeeder Tempest from forgeworld that my secret santa got me. I'm afraid I went a little overboard with the weathering.
Added a dark blue wash (Nightshade) to all the crevices and rivets, then painted out the tide marks where necessary.
After that I drybrushed fairly vigorously with Screaming Skull (cream) touching in all the rivets with that colour, and added chips with Mechanicus Std. Grey.
There are also some washes (Nuln Oil and Gloss Agrax) on the metal bits.
I think I may need to beef up the shadow on the skid plate, and the highlight on the left hip? It's hard to get the shading angles right painting the armour off the model!
I got the space wolves battle force this week... still looking forward to finish other minis before start painting a space wolves army...
Thunderwolf Cavalry seem to function alot like Chaos Plague Marines, just faster, stronger and all round better.
They are great at locking up weak units in combat and killing characters. Also, I have armed them with melta bombs, so the enemy needs to take care of them before I run them towards the nearest stationary tank, worthy of exploding in glorious melta goodness.
