Space Shuttle Discovery launch from sea... Our cruise captain of Disney Magic kept us drifting offshore off Cape Canaveral after embarkation so we could catch this amazing site of a night launch from sea. What a fantastic way to start a cruise!

The original rocket engines were removed while the shuttle was still in Florida, these are replicas or mockups. They were mounted on a gimble, and could be moed while in flight.

Really cool space shuttle landing simulator app for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. It only covers the last 5 minutes of a shuttle flight (approach and landing) but it has lots of options and it's only $1.99. Check out www.f-sim.com/test2/ - also my blog post: flyingsinger.blogspot.com/2010/12/ipod-shuttle.html

This is Atlantis headed up on its last mission, STS-132; we were fortunate enough to be offered a spot in the Operations Support Building II on the grounds of Kennedy Space Center, a mere 3 miles from the launchpad. TOTALLY amazing experience.

Quinn build the Lego Space Shuttle. For a 1200 piece kid he flew through building this without soliciting any help. So for kit aged 16+ he sure had no troubles at 9. Great job!

November 1985 plan for space shuttle flights Mission 71I (STS-52) through 71N (STS-57). August 1988 was the latest they had flights planned, although the manifest was issued monthly, meaning there could be a December 1985 and January 1986 manifest lurking around. This was the latest such plan prior to Challenger that I could find.
