Heart-rending emotion in this statue from the tomb of Sir Robert Hitchen who died in 1636. Sir Robert was the Lord of the Manor of Framlingham.
I took this photo without flash as I like the feeling that 'poor' light gives.

Questo scatto sembra suggerire l'opulenza schiacciante nei confronti del sapere, la pesante materia contro l'innalzamento dello spirito. Oppure più gaiamente fa molto stanza del tesoro!
Sorrow of life - painful
arcane trace of tears
reddened eyes
in drunken state,
is this you call life?
A walk down the memory
lane
life, a bitter dreadful dream
scared, yet non near
hazy destiny unclear,
Waves of suffering,
drowned dreams,
marooned future,
sorrow to the brim.
life so painful; yet linger my blemished-soul
to thee ‘o’ Lord, so hopeful, so dear.

A collaboration with the lovely Laura Swift
"Even after the death and ascension of her Son, whether she ate, or worked, the remembrance of His passion was ever deeply impressed on her mind, and fresh in her tender heart".
The Divine Mother herself revealed this to Saint Bridget.
"Redeemed souls, and my beloved children, do not pity me only for the hour in which I beheld my dear Jesus expiring before my eyes; for the sword of sorrow predicted by Simeon pierced my soul during the whole of my life: when I was giving suck to my Son, when I was warming Him in my arms, I already foresaw the bitter death that awaited Him. Consider, then, what long and bitter sorrows I must have endured."

I have had my Margot Unique girl (MUG) for such a long time now. She was neither named or played with until this weekend. Sorrow is her name but I think she really is a happy girl deep down inside!
Some new crowns in the E place too........see profile:)
Extracted from Jan. 2018 issue of the National Geographic. I was touched by the photo and thought it would make a good sketch if I can capture the likeness.
"Charles uses everything from old soda cans to bits of leather, found cedar and discarded tractor parts found on a farm to weave images in his minds eye into stunning works of sculptural art.
But at heart, it’s his wry, almost quirky sense of humor and his gift for rendering it into three dimensions that makes the work of Don Charles forever magical."

Once again, my daughter's room is empty, but now the pain is two-fold. Yes, she finds us intolerable, a fate I don't wish on anyone. We are also in the process of moving from a home we built ourselves 14 years ago. The move is more of a bittersweet feeling as we are very excited about our new place. We are just not excited as a family and that is the worst part of all.
For Mission 24: Sorrow (impeccable timing, as I hope to never be this full of sorrow ever again)
And thank God for Flickr for providing a distraction.

Sorrow - The sorrows of mankind are summed up by a Tepee that brings to mind the suffering and sorrow of Native Americans.
The Stations of the Cross or the Way of the Cross, also known as the Way of Sorrows or the Via Crucis, refers to a series of images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion and accompanying prayers. The stations grew out of imitations of Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem which is believed to be the actual path Jesus walked to Mount Calvary. The objective of the stations is to help the Christian faithful to make a spiritual pilgrimage through contemplation of the Passion of Christ. It has become one of the most popular devotions and the stations can be found in many Western Christian churches, including Anglican, Lutheran, Methodist, and Roman Catholic.
Commonly, a series of 14 images will be arranged in numbered order along a path and the faithful travel from image to image, in order, stopping at each station to say the selected prayers and reflections. This will be done individually or in a procession most commonly during Lent, especially on Good Friday, in a spirit of reparation for the sufferings and insults that Jesus endured during his passion.
The style, form, and placement of the stations vary widely. The typical stations are small plaques with reliefs or paintings placed around a church nave. Modern minimalist stations can be simple crosses with a numeral in the centre. Occasionally the faithful might say the stations of the cross without there being any image, such as when the pope leads the stations of the cross around the Colosseum in Rome on Good Friday.
