I went for a hike with my sister to Twin Falls - amazingly the first time I've ever been there.

After several weeks of camping, each week with different family members, with some time inbetween, I'am back again, looking foward to see many of your photo's (and showing some of mine too;-))

For sure not the best moment of the day for it, but I could not resist to take some photo's when I passed a meadow in the city and saw this large mushroom, last year.

With some family we had a great time at the campsite in the Morvan, France. Eating shrimps together was a culinary feast.

Nearby the campsite where we stayed last July, at the corner of the wood, there was a field with some horses.

Another day to night conversion.

This old trading post has been around in some from or another since 1603. Let that melt on your tongue for a while.

I shot this in broad daylight on an overcast day but ultimately found it lacking, so I converted it to a dusk shot to embue it with some atmosphere.

My first Explore photo since 2016! I've sadly become far less of a shutterbug since my golden era of 2015-2017. I just became far more selective of times where I bust out my camera.

But at least I believe in my hobby enough to invest in a new kit, a Sony full-frame, as an upgrade from my quirky Olympus MFT kit. Knowing how these things tend to go, I'm certain I'll be using the same camera and lens for upwards of a decade. So, there's opportunity yet to get more Explore photos in the future.

COVID really did throw my vague expectations off balance. In 2020 and 2021 I was anticipating making maybe four international trips to Europe and Asia, and would've been excited to take a lot of new photos. This trip to the coastal village of Lamu, Kenya was my first overseas trip with my new camera (at least if I don't count Hawai'i). I still don't have the hardcoded muscle memory like I had for my Olympus to manipulate the controls but I'm glad to see I apparently "still got it".

I really hope to bring this camera to more exciting places.

Taken at "Forodhani House" in Shela, Lamu, Kenya. Cannot recommend it enough. It was easily the most magical place I've ever visited. If you can convince a group of friends or family to join you it's one of the most interesting places you can go to in the English-speaking world.

I like the way the golden leaves stand out against the naturally subdued colours in the background.
