Just Opened: Frank Gehry's transformation of the AGO. This is an unusual type of project for Frank Gehry because it is located in a dense urban context. Except for one view from Grange Park there is no place that you can stand back and take in the entire project. The gallery is located very close to where Frank Gehry spent much of his childhood.
I must say, I cannot wait for the AGO to reopen on November 14, 2008.

Every five minutes Joey is showing me something new he's done to his homemade Skopio. They aren't available retail anymore and he really wanted one. He took apart the Witch Doctor and other Bionicle and Technic pieces to make his own this weekend. He wants me to mention that it has one eye on purpose.
For "something new" at december 2011 in photos.
M4H 30/52: Something new. Today I ran the Blessing Of The Fleet. This is a ten-mile road race very close to my home. It's a huge event down here in the summer. There are thousands and thousands of participants; the crowd support in this race is amazing. The course runs by the ocean for the first four miles. This is the third time I've run this race. I ran it in 2010 and 2011. I skipped 2012 due to a knee injury (and some running burnout). The last time I ran it, I had a really awful run and said I would never do it again…but I did. When I started running again this year after my knee injury last year, I was slow. REALLY slow, I didn't know I could run that slow, slow. I'm really hard on myself. This was disappointing. Then I got a horrible case of tendinitis in my foot and ankle. And I was still slow. I kept running, though. I praised the heavens above when I saw the weather today was going to be only in the high sixties with cloud cover and rain (this is amazing running weather…and has actually been the weather all three times I've run it, which is so unusual). My something new is this: a new personal record for this race. I ran it faster than I ever have, and far faster than I tought I would be able to. I did not know I had it in me to go this fast anymore. I mean, we're not talking elite runner fast but still. I'm so proud of myself. I still don't have the official time…there were rumblings that the chip timing was not working correctly and they had to do all the timing manually, by sight, with the numbers. But the clock at the finish line was the fastest one I've ever seen for this race. And then I got a free beer :). So here is a photo of my soaking wet running shoes, shorts, running bra, and shirt (with number still attached) on my bathroom floor. It actually did not rain while I ran but I poured water over my head to keep cool each time I got to a water stop.
Just a play in PS with my screensaver, thought it needed something new, or maybe that should be something old !

It only took 18 years, but we finally wrapped up the sign we've always wanted. Complete with front and back lights, it shows off our logo in just the right ways PLUS there's no way you'll miss us (even from space)! Feels good to finally get this project finished, with that back to work we go.

I've been wanting, toying and yet procrastinating with the idea of starting my Project 365. One of the chief reason why I haven't started it yet is that I am inherently a lazy person (I shamelessly blame it on my genes). I love to be a complete couch potato. There are days when I dont even touch my camera. Each time it comes in my sight, I feel a little guilty for ignoring my favorite toy.
So, in attempts to keep it realistic and yet photograph regularly I am going to shed my laziness start my PROJECT 365!
If you've stopped by my profile, be kind and give me some support, themes and or encouragement.
=) Cheers!
PS: thats my favorite model (and person) in the picture - my sister.
Little Rosie Red shows off the old coin my friend just bought (old and borrowed). Her blue hair ribbon (a stretch but go with it) complements her new Dot-Z outfit (which you can't really see).
Hurrah!
This year I have decided to participate in The Glass Slipper Blog's themed Project 52! This weeks theme was Something New.
Winter doesn't last long around here (when it decides to even show up at all) and these trees in my backyard have already started sprouting new leaves. I loved the way the green looked against the blue sky.
Thanks for looking! :)
Well, good news for the perhaps relatively few fans of this waterfall that's at the end of the parking lot, before you start up the stairs into the gorge.
You used to have to go up as far as you could go to get even this kind of picture and then backtrack to the parking lot and go up, but there are steps and a walk almost ready so you can move up and to the the right of this point and see a bit more of the upper part of this falls, then go right into the stairway/cave.
I shot this at 1/60th because I liked the color of the scruffy leaves on the right. The wind was blowing them all around in my slow shutter shot.
Also new-to-me -- Apparently the parks people have now given up on the carry in-carry out concept. There are now 3 shiny chained down garbage cans on the walkways in the gorge.
You all better get down here! They will probably close off the gorge in a little over a month.
