This is a female red-rumped parrot. The male has a brighter green colour and the typical red spot on the back. Only the females were willing to pose for a photo but I will try to get a photo of a male too.

The photo was taken in the aviary of our zoo.

Although this rose isn't in perfect condition, it just seemed to call out to me! It's definitely something special!

This, too, is from my favorite rose garden, Point Defiance Park, located in Tacoma, Washington. Although we no longer live in Washington, I still love to go back through the archives and post the beauties found there! Hope you all enjoy!
