A crowd has gathered in Springer Market Square to watch a free movie 'Some like it hot' during a Thursday night 'Movies in the Square' put on by the 'Downtown Kingston' group (a very hard working bunch).
Another reason to visit Kingston or plan a 'staycation'.
There is so much to do in Kingston; and not just in the summer.
Best viewed large.
Spicy grilled cheese sandwiches are always fun. Usually pushing the envelope.
Sometimes I use peppers like a Ghost. Othertimes I'll add some hotter sauce for some extra kick.

This is a small but beautiful piece that I did of Marilyn Monroe. I burnt both her profile and the quote, "If I am a star, then the people made me a star," into the wood.
I was thinking about tracing her face but I ended up drawing it freehand. I'm happy with the way it turned out, it's not perfect, but it's given it a unique look.
It's been coated with 2 coats of polyacrylic finish and the back is protected by eco-felt with a sawtooth hanger.
It is signed by me, the artist, with my initials, "A.G." for Amber Grey.

Taken on the grounds of the Hotel del Coronado, San Diego, California, USA. This tree was shown, according to the plaque in front of it, in the film "Some Like it Hot," starring Marilyn Monroe. There is at least one other kind of tree also known as a dragon tree.

Tony Curtis passed away 9-29-2010........... a true Hollywood legend who acted in over 60 films in roles covering a wide range of genres, the peak of his acting career was in the 50's and 60's and in the later part of his life he concentrated more on painting than acting.
I've been passing this mural of him on the Hollywood freeway for years........... seems like a good time to post this photo I took of it a short time back ..........
