Inver Grove Sanitation is one of several smaller local haulers in the TCM. IGS serves only a few cities in the Dakota County area. They have been in business and serving Inver grove Heights for at least 20 years. This is one of a few trucks that they operate, I believe it was added to their fleet about 4-5 years ago. It is seen here parked in Eagan, MN during a lunch break.

'Where did our counterparts go?' Labneh asked.

 

I was still wondering if that was all a dream, but the others saw the cloud too so it had to be real. Just how could there be two different histories, with two different versions of us exploring these woods?

 

'I think they went up that path back there, and we're heading down this one,' said Pistachio. 'Two different paths, but now we're taking both the same time.'

 

'Oh,' I said. It didn't make sense either.

 

'Think of it as two teams on an adventure. Don't think of them as versions of us from an alternate reality,' Pistachio added.

 

'Okay, so we're part of the same group and just split up to cover a wider area.'

 

'Yeah, something like that.'

 

Cumin tugged my paw, gesturing to the sloping banks of the hill. The path our counterparts took led them to a region we had never explored before. I always thought it was brambles and a fence up there, with no way of getting through.

 

'Maybe that way is different in their universe. Maybe the woods look different,' I said. 'But really they're just exploring a different part of the forest.'

 

'One thing I don't get though,' Cashew interrupted. 'In their world, Henry Tudor didn't become king after Bosworth Field. Which means he did not marry Elizabeth of York and have seven children named Arthur, Margaret, Henry, Elizabeth, Mary, Edmund and Katherine. Arthur died when he was fifteen, so Henry became the crown prince. He was Henry the Eighth. Margaret later became Queen of Scotland after marrying James the Fourth.'

 

'So no Mary Queen of Scots either,' Pistachio said.

 

'And that's not all. Didn't Christopher Columbus ask Henry Tudor to sponsor his expedition across the Atlantic and Henry turned him down? That's why Columbus asked the Spanish. If there's a different king and queen, maybe they say yes and Christopher Columbus sails from an English or Welsh port. Imagine where they'd land. Imagine how different things will be in the Americas. Britain would make first contact, not Spain,' Cashew went on. 'And what about Australia and India and the British Empire? What happens there?'

 

Pistachio interrupted him with a deep chuckle. 'I see you've been thinking about this a lot,' he said.

 

'So have you,' Cashew retorted.

 

It was beginning to make my head hurt. History was always something solid and unchanging. Something we learned in school. But now it was like the whole world had been turned upside down. No, not the whole world, an entire universe of universes and someone had come along and shaken it all up for a big hilarious prank.

 

Only I wasn't laughing. Something about this felt serious. Myrddin's voice was so grave, but there was a hint of mischief too. I didn't want to find out what might happen if we failed.

 

'So, what might Henry Tudor do to stop him becoming king?' I said.

 

'Apart from the obvious getting himself killed at Bosworth?' said Cashew. 'I don't know. He's not the kind of guy to just give up and go back to Pembroke and live a quiet life tending a garden.'

 

'Something must have happened to cause him to lose the battle,' said Labneh.

 

'That's what I think too,' Pistachio said.

 

Just then the shimmering cloud appeared and I heard our counterparts talking about their history.

 

'Hello, can you hear us?' said Hazel through the cloud.

 

'Yes,' I said.

 

'That's weird. Two Falafels,' said Cashew's counterpart.

 

The others looked unnerved too, hearing their other selves speak through the cloud. But I pursed my snout and pretended it was all perfectly normal.

 

'Do you know what Henry Tudor did when he stayed in Aberystwyth?' Hazel asked. 'It's just we don't know much about him. In our history, he's a rebel warlord that everyone prefers to forget. If he became king we wouldn't have the de la Poles and their union with the Howards. Aberystwyth Castle wouldn't be preserved. Christopher Columbus might not set sail from Bristol and land in Newfoundland. Did he sail south along the coast from there? His second expedition took him to the Potomac and Anacostia rivers where he met the Piscataway people. Potomac City has become a thriving hub for artists nowadays.'

 

'Does Gwladfa exist in your universe? William Penn became the first president of Gwladfa,' said their Cashew. 'And what about Mexico? Is it still the global superpower like the Middle East Economic Union?'

 

'Wait, what what what?' Pistachio gabbled. 'This is getting too much. Our worlds are so different.'

 

'I know about William Penn. Pennsylvania was named after him. It means, Penn's Woods. He tried to encourage Welsh people to settle there,' said Cashew.

 

'I like the name Pennsylvania. It sounds like Transylvania,' said their Cashew with a chuckle. 'Does that mean their Pennsylvania is full of Welsh vampires?'

 

Both Cashews laughed.

 

'Anyway,' I said, trying to get us back to the question. 'You want to know about Henry Tudor's visit to Aberystwyth?' I turned and looked at the others. 'Anyone know?'

 

'I do know a little bit from when we visited the university that time,' said Cumin. 'Henry Tudor had a big camping holiday, but he only stayed in Aberystwyth for one or two days on August the tenth.'

 

'Yes, that's right. He traveled through Wales to gather recruits for his army. He must have recruited a lot of people from Aberystwyth and Machynlleth,' said Pistachio.

 

'Okay, but do you know where in Aberystwyth he went? Did he have alone time or visit the woods?' asked Hazel. She paused. 'Pistachio, it's great to hear you outside. So you didn't hurt your paw by stepping on a thorn?'

 

'No, no thorns in these paws,' Pistachio held up his paws proudly.

 

'He really hurt himself. His paw's been giving him balagan, apparently,' said their version of me.

 

Labneh tugged my paw again, gesturing to the views over Aberystwyth down the hill behind us. 'What if Henry Tudor hurt himself in their universe but not in ours?' she whispered.

 

Our counterparts overheard. 'Yes, I think you might be right,' said Hazel.

 

'The question is, how?' Pistachio twitched his whiskers in ponder.

... sinking myself in the solid air. As far as your eyes can see, no horizon. How strange it is to have nothing to look at, nothing to stare at. Only a white milky cloud that goes backwards when you follow it. There could be so many things behind this thick curtain. Many giants or many birds.

I purposely came to this location as it was ideal for just a single loco and the Robert Adam designed 1776 church towers in the background instantly locate it. I really needed the sun out but 15 minutes earlier it was solid grey cloud with no hint of a break but fortunately the first break on the horizon appeared as it passed Ardleigh and the sun had come out as it arrived at Manningtree vindicating my decision not to shoot it from Mistley station where it would have been in deep shadow.

Last nights sunset over the Coorong was nothing short of spectacular with a 30 second break through the clouds to produce a rich golden light across the limestone.

Solid performer from the era of heavy metal.

Lego did a pretty good job, but there were some details I wanted to change:

 

- mask is now a actual piece, not just a print

- new head, without mask printing

- chrome silver arm (printing is photoshopped from the original figure's printing)

 

(unfortunately there is still no chrome silver hand yet)

Total black color scheme. I took inspiration from the Armored Core videogame serie.

The regular polyhedra (solids whose faces are identical regular polygons like squares or equilateral triangles) are named after the Greek

philisopher Plato. There are just five of them:

tetrahedron - 4 triangles

cube (or hexahedron) - 6 squares

octahedron - 8 triangles

dodecahedron - 12 pentagons

icosahedron - 20 triangles

2019 is complete!

 

I'm almost at a loss for words. This 365 (number 7) almost felt the easiest. The effort is a joy.

 

I had ups & downs this year. Friends that came, and went. Love was lost, then found again.

 

I faced a lot of old demons and continued to work through them with presence and a loving heart. It's a process.

 

Luck and good fortune have been by my side and I've attempted to share that with those close to me.

 

Most importantly, I have kept my friends and family close to my heart. As I get older, I realize more and more how those connections are what matter most in my life.

 

Going into 2020 I feel a sense that anything is possible. I have no tangible goals, no solid direction. With that comes the realization that in my life, those things rarely served me anyhow and maybe I'm better off without them. This year I'm a leaf on the wind.

Water mains work taking place for the conversion of former council offices into houses at St Lenoards Place has seen the road widt reduced and temporary 3-way traffic lights put in place, with the resulting extended queues of traffic.... in order to keep the Green Line 2 P&R service running to time the route has been diverted and is not running a loop of the city centre - instead the buses serve only the Station Avenue stop and then use the Leeman Road layby to turn around and then head back to Rawcliffe Bar along Leeman Road, Garfield Terrace Salisbury Road and Water End as a reversal of the inbound route. Volvo B7RLE Wright Eclipse Urban YJ08 XYE is turning from Leeman Road into Garfield Terrace (this section of the route is not cleared for the bendy Citaro's, so only solid buses are being used).

after finishing work very very very late last night I decided to for a brief walk before catching a cab home. Sometimes I need to decompress a little.

 

I love the gold colour here. And also very thankful that I bought the f1.8mm 28mm rather than the f3.5-4.5 wide angle zoom I was considered. DOF works so well here.
