Looking Close... on Friday: Soft Texture

In front of a toy shop in Bombay, selling variety of toy characters.

Internationally, it was reported that the toy industry performed well in 2020. Wooden toys have gained special popularity. In the West, sellers such as Grimms, Grapat etc. are renowned for their non-toxic wooden toys. Their products are developed keeping in mind the learning requirements of children. There is evidently a big market for wooden toys. Unfortunately, while the global toy market is estimated at $90 billion, India’s share is just 0.5% ($500 million).

a simply beautiful day in winter, happy weekend out there!

A colour photograph of nature.

I wish you all a nice sunday, dear Flickr Friends!

What I love about floral photography, is the creative opportunities are endless. It can be bold, bright, soft, gentle & each petal can catch the light in a different way.

Double Flowering Plum....

It's in my neighbour's yard... but, I went over yesterday and hung out for quite some time taking plenty of photos in hopes of getting some nice ones ... with the macro lens.

So hard to hold the camera steady and I'm not setting up my tripod .. so did my best and got several I'm happy with. I may go over again while the blooms are still shaded and try for a few more.

I have no clue what I get some days til I upload the photos....

#MacroMondays - #Pastel

This was my first try to shoot a macro with my regular Sigma 50mm 1.4 and a macro intermediate ring. The sharpness is, off course, far away from my Sigma 105 2.8 macro lense but what is exciting me is how smooth and soft that shot became. For that amout of depth I needed to stack 22 images.

An immature Song Sparrow (Melospiza melodia) found a nice soft place to land in it's adventure in flight!

Dark Morph Rough-legged Hawk - Captured close to sunset unfortunately I did not have enough time to position myself with the most opportune light. What intrigued me about this shot is the softness of the face particularly the eye. A one second poser.

This is one from my archives. I hesitated to post it because I can remember so little about this rose and where it was taken. It could well have been in my old garden [before I downsized to my flat] as I had quite a few roses growing there. On the other hand, it could have been in a friend's garden....

It was taken with my basic Canon Ixus camera
