We have a new sofa. In fact it's not really new, it belonged to my parents and they don't need it anymore and so I decided to put it into my bedroom as a kind of king-size cat bed. I think it's safe to say that the new piece of furniture has been an instant success with the Dragon. :)

I've been dreaming of an IKEA Karlstad sofa (resp. the IKEA Karlanda before) since I was about ... 12? something like that (not kidding) and now we finally own one!

we sold our old ektorp sofas on ebay so that this huge but so comfy new sofa could move in with us.

I love it. WE actually love it!

(It's very rare that Max actually really LOVES something about our appartment!) And so much space for my cushion addiction. :)

Every so often my decision to not take a tripod with me, turns out to be the wrong decision. I hadn't planned to go inside this house but as Wilbur notes, I usually do. So anyway, once I saw this sofa, I had to shoot it, tripod or no tripod. It is so much more difficult to process a shot with a window without being able to HDR it. But I did the best I could do with all those sliders.

Rummaging through stacks of old watercolour paintings can produce some nice surprises. This is a painting that I created 34 years ago of my lovely, thoughtful wife while she was resting on a sofa. I don't recall if I asked her to pose for me or whether I used a photo reference. (I suspect that it was a mixture of the two.) While I didn't succeed in creating a great portrait, the result has a unmistakeable resemblance of her.

Fouiller dans des piles de vieilles aquarelles peut produire de belles surprises. Voici un tableau que j'ai réalisé il y a 34 ans, représentant ma charmante et attentionnée épouse, allongée sur un fauteuil. Je ne me souviens plus si je lui ai demandé de poser pour moi ou si j'ai utilisé une photo de référence. (Je soupçonne un mélange des deux.) Même si je n'ai pas réussi à créer un portrait parfait, le résultat lui ressemble indéniablement.
