My wife is getting ready for Christmas. (And she knits really well!)

I made these a couple of years ago and they are so warm and comfortable and cheery!

Not handknit socks in shoes exactly but these slides show the lace detail at the toe which is quite cute :)

Just took off my sneakers and my feet are resting in cute white socks

wheee. sometimes the only thing that gets me through the day are funny outfits

Yarn: Gjestal Maija, white 202, red 237, blue 206 and light brown 281, under 50 grams of each

Needles: 3,25 mm

 

Modifications: used only four colours instead of five

 

I wasn't happy knitting these socks. Fair isle is not my forte, and with a thicker yarn it's even more difficult I think. Also, I don't get the afterthought heel. It fits fine, but I don't understand why I would like to knit the heel last? Enlighten me please if you have any ideas about that.

 

My mom really liked these socks when she saw me knitting them, so now I have a Mother's Day gift done, and that's a good thing. And now that the socks are done, I think they are kinda cute. No more fair isle for me for a while though.
