After a week of relentless stormy weather with drenching rain in the basin and heavy snow in high elevation thanks to the "atmospheric river" phenomenon, SoCal mountains turned into Winter lands.
A big shout out to all of the incredible photographers on Flick'r who freely share their vision of the world around us. Thank you for your wonderful and encouraging comments.

P.S. This shot of a breaching Pacific bottlenose dolphin was taken a few years ago on New Years day in Southern California with the snow-capped San Bernardino Mountains serving as background.
Taken from the Newport Beach Pier last winter. I have boogie boarded but never surged. It's on my to do list. I could watch these waves come in all day.
Here in SoCal we decorate the palm trees and put on our winter clothes for the temps that dip into the 50's .... Brrrrrrr......
In my left hand you can see the mask I had on in public. The tricky part was remembering to take it off for photo-ops.

Contrary to popular belief, SoCal *does* have an Autumn; complete with falling leaves. Sadly it is followed by the non-stop sound of leaf blowers going on 9a-5p...ugh.
Tokyo is more quiet (*seriously*).

Living in Southern California (aka "SoCal") is truly outstanding (though it comes at a *steep* price in terms of Cost-of-Living).
Most days I awake not only wondering what month it is, but whether it's Spring/Summer/Winter/Fall (seriously!), as there is no differentiating one day of the year from the other, as the weather here is mostly Sunny and Warm.
Picture taken last weekend of a High School Pool in San Diego while the Back Bay 14u Water Polo team proceeded to win another game. The irony is that temps were *warmer* in February than May (thus far).
