There something to the sereneness of the desert landscape that I have always found soothing. My friends and I have taken many camping trips to the desert and I always return with a recharged and renewed spirit. Even from the freeway at 80 mph it has its attraction.

Snowless mountains, a dry creek-bed(usually is only filled up when it's raining) and bare trees set the stage here. As four BNSF Dash 9's roar out of the super narrow Lone Pine Canyon and into the open at Blue Cut as the OOCL and CMA-CGM intermodal train continue to grind uphill on their journey east on the Cajon Subdivision.
