Looks like they're meditating & if I wasn't there to see it for myself I would be terribly confused! Whatever it may be, they look damn HOT doin it!
About ten seconds after I walked inside after taking pictures, I heard a heavy car door slam and an engine start up. I ran outside and saw the weed car hanging a left out of our parking lot. About five seconds later, the cop who answered the call went roaring past with lights blazing. Busted.
He pulled the guy out of the car (who had a tucked in dress shirt and tie on, oddly enough), left him seated on the hood and performed a full vehicle search. This was taken during the standard sobriety test.
Crewmembers from Station Portsmouth, Va., conduct a simulated field-sobriety test with a plainly-clothed station member during a boating under the influence enforcement demonstration at the station Tuesday, June 23, 2009. This demonstration was a multi-agency event with representatives from the Coast Guard, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Virginia Marine Resources Commission, Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, Virginia Beach Police department marine unit, Newport News marine police, and the Marine Incident Response Team. It didn't come as a particular surprise, but I noticed that I was drinking and smoking a little more than I was happy about. I was especially sensitive to this fact after reading Infinite Jest.
So I figured: what better place to take a break from both booze and cigarettes than Switzerland, the land of natural beauty, fresh air, and exhorbitant prices. The abstinence also served as a bit of test for myself, to see how my body reacted to the lack of substances.
The conclusion? I didn't miss alcohol much at all and there were moments when I would've loved to smoke a cigarette, but the feeling quickly went away. It was a pretty short test, but the results were pretty comforting.
But now, I'm in Munich.
And in Munich, beer must happen.
Students Baking 10,000 Cookies for Law Enforcement Officers: Delcastle Technical HS Students Thank Officers for DUI Enforcement
Delaware Governor Jack Markell stopped by to cheer and thank culinary students at Delcastle Technical High School. The students are baking cookies for every law enforcement officer in Delaware as a token of thanks for staffing sobriety checkpoints over the holidays. The students aim to make more than 10,000 cookies by working overnight in a marathon baking session.
Children from surrounding elementary schools are on hand to decorate cookie boxes along with students from other career areas at Delcastle. Dana Herbert, winner of TLC’s “Next Cake Boss”, as well as the Chick-Fil-A cow visited to join in the activities.
This year’s delivery will be dedicated to Sgt. Joseph Szczerba, killed in the line in September.

I wasn't inspired this weekend in reference to creative photography ideas. I am normally waking up with a head full of possible possibilities (it would be nice to learn what I need to do to get the results I want, but I guess in time.)
These here are the women I spent the weekend with. Not to be cliche, but they are miraculous gifts in my amazing life, also a gift :)
I didn't want to miss a day and continue working it out over the next few, so I have a few to post that I took over my retreat weekend.
So many women for their first time to be in such a warm, safe, and loving environment. I hope they all could recieve the love and the power of recovery I did this weekend :) I always leave these striving to be a better person, which I need to do :)

Drinking too much during COVID-19? @usatoday “Alcohol intake increases, so does the need for sobriety tech tools." “.... the 2.1 million people, as of 2018, who attend AA meetings around the world, and though they've been moved online, it doesn't work for everyone. @mjgottlieb co-founder of #LoosidApp states, "Think about the other 23 hours in the day where someone may be struggling, what are people supposed to do then?"
Getting sober does not simply mean abstaining from alcohol or the drug of choice. Recovery and sobriety require various phases of treatment and therapy that affect a client emotionally, physically and psychologically. At Drug Treatment Centers in New Haven, they understand the complexities of addiction, and what it takes to get patients on the path to recovery.
Rarely can someone break the addiction cycle without proper professional intervention. Someone bound by chemical addiction may have begun the process as a recreational user. Life’s challenges, emotional or psychological issues may have influenced an individual to continue using alcohol or drugs as a means of providing an avenue of relief or escape. Chronically using a substance causes changes in the central nervous system, which then affects other body systems. The body comes to depend on receiving the substance on a regular basis in order to function.

Nike says it best “Just Do IT!” The lies, justifications, excuses whatever you call it are just the disease of addiction wanting to keep you there stuck in disease. Take the leap of faith that it is possible for you to live a life free from any addiction you have. “Just Do it”
Someone named Crystal marked a year of sobriety by visiting an abandoned house a few miles northwest of Condon on Oregon Highway 206. From reading her many writings on the walls inside this house, I think this might have been some kind of aversion therapy. I get the sense that she might have used the house like other youthful transgressors in the area as a place to get wasted.
I might be reading too much into this message, but she seems to be a little too selfish and condemning toward her friend Autumn.
Cincinnati Drug Treatment Centers can help patients achieve recovery and sobriety and discover a better way of living. Once drug addicts or alcoholics decide to join a treatment program, they can start the first stage of recovery which is generally medical detox. Then they can move unto rehab where they are provided with medical and psychological treatment to overcome their addiction.
Alcoholism and drug addiction can destroy the lives of users and their loved ones. Those who continue to abuse these substances can become addicted to them and face a wide range of problems with health, relationships, finances, and legal issues. With the help of Cincinnati Drug Treatment Centers addiction counselors can provide a way to aid in helping addicts to overcome the challenges that they so often face and provide the recovery tools necessary to achieve long-term sobriety.

This was obviously not posted for its photo quality, but more for the memory of such a great time with really good friends. No words can describe how much I laughed this night.
Congratulations @mileycyrus on 6 Months of Sobriety!
Miley Cyrus Talks Staying Sober with @variety ... “It's really hard because especially being young, there's that stigma of 'you're no fun,'" she said. "It's like, 'Honey, you can call me a lot of things, but I know that I'm fun.' The thing that I love about it is waking up 100%, 100% of the time. I don't want to wake up feeling groggy. I want to wake up feeling ready."

Photography has been such an integral part of my life- my sobriety, my faith, and helped me to see with new eyes; a new lens, if you will. It's about appreciation, and it's about moments in life.
God's majesty never ceases to amaze me. Last night's sunset was simply divine, and when I saw that sliver of the moon peeking through the beautiful colors, I had to find a spot and composition to capture it all.
Enjoy your day, and notice something out there today. Look for the 'little things', and you will see them.
You see, they're really not so little.
Please contact me for prints or for use of the photo.
Thank you, and enjoy!
The kayaks were so much easier than the canoe. Effort-wise, anyway. Sobriety-wise, that may not be the case. We tipped. Many times.
