Morning clouds lift after a snowstorm in Emigration Canyon, Idaho. The highest elevations in southeastern Idaho have a beautiful first layer of snow that will soon be several feet deep.

I hope this image adds some context to the previous one I posted in my stream. For this image, I was using my 75-300mm, so I was shooting the advancing storm from a distance. My only regret is that when I arrived home and downloaded my images, I found that I had somehow mistakenly re-set the quality from RAW to jpeg at medium quality. This was a bit of a blow as it limited what I could do with the images in terms of processing. The quality was also lacking slightly, which I think is evident when the darker areas of this image are examined closely. However, I hope it portrays the mood of what I actually saw in the field.

This is what I saw looking out my sliding door onto my deck, to my back garden during a two day snowstorm that brought down 50 Centimeters of snow on us!!! Not easy finding where to put it all!! The shoveling really develops those arm muscles! LoL!

in the middle of the Alps. I was hoping for some nice blue sky above the clouds but it seems I always get the clouds that stay about 30 meters above the top of the mountain. Anyways as the storm was calming a bit I managed to get a glimps of the mountain on the other sive of this ssmall canyon - maybe 500m away. Thats as fas as I could "see".

So here we have a nice wintry scene :)

I was lucky enough to be able to visit Iceland this year pre covid-19 in Jan. Back then I was not happy with the weather at all…one snow strom was followed by another … Retrospectively I wouldn't trade a minute of it!

Good old fashioned snowstorm heading our way!

In autumn, quite weak but bringing interesting fractured (probably pannus) clouds.

the snow kept falling for over a day before finally ending late in the evening and we woke up the next morning in a luminous wonderland on the crest of north fork mountain

We got a pretty good snowstorm yesterday, so of course, I had to grab my camera! This wintery scene is at a park in Maryland.

Honestly I had completely another picture in mind. The Kirk with the mountains in the back with some juicy light. Well, things just went differently...but you need to take what you get. I like it!

The rock formations Meteora, Greece, were caught in the snowstorm “Bianca” on March 2nd, 2022. The Roussanou monastery (aka St. Barbara’s) was built c.1528 on an extremely precipitous rock formation (1,588 ft or 484 m high) with very limited space available on its plateau.
