Just packing up to leave Hill Top, Romiley when the snowstorm came!

We did have quite a snowstorm and whiteout here in West Vancouver. This scene shows the Hydro Station on the right, it was taken from my balcony. The snow melted again after a few days and now we are back to fog wipeouts!

The neighbor had just used his snow blower on our back pavement. I stepped outside to take the photo, and thanked him, too. It's 'great to have good neighbors!

It is still snowing, though....

I was driving on a highway before dawn when this snow squall arrived. Interesting driving. Interesting photography, too.

I stopped by Wright-Locke Farm today to give the goats some old bananas, given to me by a convenience store. We had a snowstorm last night, dropping six inches or so.

It's still Winter here, even though the calendar says March!!! This is why or city goes back to normal in less than 24hrs after a snowstorm!

A panoramic shot of Lake Potter after our January 23rd snow and ice storm.

It left us with no electricity for 12 hours , lots of snow and a day off for my friend Hanna's kids.

Last snowstorm of winter

Snowstorm in Kentucky

I get up pretty early and it's always dark when the alarm goes off but last week, as the sun started to come up, I looked out the window and I could hardly see past the house next door--it was a genUine snowstorm and we haven't had much of it this year. I was so excited that we finally had some decent snow I was practically pacing as I waited for Norm to finish with a few things so we could go out and get some pictures.

As always, he was intrepid and when we got on the country roads he really needed to be. At one point he said, 'I hope you know how to get pictures while we're moving because I'm not taking any chances by stopping in this mess.' So I used the settings the birders on here do (hurrah for exif data) ...but instead of birds moving, it was me and I actually got some clear shots.

However, by the time we got to Georgetown the roads were much better so I was finally able to get out of the car and this house was my first stop. It's one of my favourites with that lovely veranda and it was just a bonus that the red branches of the dogwood were showing up so well against the snow.

I don't recommend taking pictures from a moving car....especially if you're the driver....but it was a rather fun and interesting challenge.

Zondag 7 februari hield sneeuwstorm Darcy flink huis in Nederland.

On Sunday, February 7, snowstorm Darcy caused a lot of nuisance in The Netherlands. This resulted in a lot of snow in large parts of the country. So I decided to make a nine-kilometer hike. That was freezing, but at the same time a special experience.

Due to the strong wind there was almost no snow in some places, but it accumulated in other places, such as along this ditch. In the background you can still vaguely see the Groote Molen (a mill) in Schellinkhout.

Day 1: A winter storm left a huge mound of snow in front of the window. The sea of snow seems endless.

Snow accumulating on the wind blown river grass during an early November snowstorm.

Sunrise light, calm water of haukland stream and a massive cloud of fresh snow incoming. Lofoten in February 2020 was just like that.

In the wintertime Lofoten are always good for dramatic weather changes. Taken our classic shots from Hamnøy bridge during the golden hour in the morning, we turned back and saw this immense storm coming towards us.

One of the most incredible experiences about living in the desert is to hike in a canyon during a snowstorm.
