Raymond Gomez, 79, an old-school barber, gives 30-year client Jack Wielenga a trim. Gomez has cut the hairs of prominent politicians, judges and bureaucrats at his tiny Santa Ana's shop on Main St. and 10th since 1954. With a head of white hair, neatly styled, Gomez was known by his customers to be a chatty and thoughtful artist, who often took an hour to cut someone's hair. He clipped his last client on December 31 and is now enjoying retirement. 1/14/09
