Lindsey saw a tiny turtle crossing the road on Saturday and stopped. I jumped out and grabbed it, only to find it was a tiny Snapping Turtle. It would not calm down, so I started rubbing its little head and it settled right down in my hand. We drove to a nearby pond and released it. I’ve never seen a snapper this tiny.
This guy (gal?) was crossing the road in the distance. I pulled over and walked up---it stopped for a minute, then correctly determined that I wouldn't want to get in a fight with him; on he went in to the nearby marsh.

Snapper Rocks Sunrise, Gold Coast - Australia
On arrival to the beach, it was still pretty dark. I went for a walk and tried to find something completely unique to the usual shots you see taken from the rock shelf at Snapper.
As soon as I stumbled upon this small, aqua coloured pond, I knew this was the shot. I spent the next 20 or so minutes trying to perfect the scene and by using a darker than normal neutral density filter, I was able to create a darker, more menacing looking sky.
