Inspired by Flickr contacts, Alan (www.flickr.com/photos/tallaltiger1050/) and Graham (www.flickr.com/photos/inkslinger15/) I have made several visits to Hartley Mauditt, Hampshire to attempt to shoot a sunset but until last night the conditions had not been right!

This is a really tranquil location when the conditions are right with St Leonards Church surrounded with trees in the background which dates back 1100AD reflecting on the perfectly still water of the foreground pond. Hartley Mauditt is known as the 'Ghost Town of Hampshire' as the church is now the only building in the town and all other buildings are buried in surrounding fields!

It was a perfect evening watching the sunset develop and the only noise was of monster carp splashing on the surface of the water!

I shall return in the winter when the trees have lost their leaves when the sun sets further South to photograph a different perspective of this location!

heading back to Snapper Point this arvo, bit of an exploratory mission to check out Timber Beach, Ghosties Beach sea caves & whatever else we can find. National park closes at 6pm, sunset 5pm, not much time in winter given some of the beaches are 6km roundtrip walk. Bring on summer & daylight savings!

While grabbing photos of the beautiful Sicilian town of Ragusa, a photographer is also captured for posterity.

An empty memory card, a full battery and sunshine sailing.........make for happy snapping :)

Yes, snapper burgers. I've never tasted a better fish! And this one was so fresh. Caught and enjoyed by the family all in one afternoon.

Here's a side view of this bruiser Common snapping turtle moving next to the boardwalk. I don't know how large their range is nor if they would tolerate other 'snappers' in their territory. I've seen two others this year at two different places, but have no clue if they are the same.

Scene of a recent murder, this coastline contains some amazing canyons.

I like his crooked smile!
