In addition to raising fish, I raise (!) two or three varieties of aquatic snails. I found this snailshell in the tank one day. From tip to tip it's less than 1/4" long. I shot this with a 300mm macro, and the plane of focus is about 1/8" wide.

There were empty snail shells all over in the garden, so I took pictures of some of them.

Saturday evening - after the summer rain... suddeny - lots of these little cuties popped up from nowhere... :-)

While the ranger was talking about some tracks in the leaves and debris, I was looking to the other side of the path and saw this empty snail shell. He was impressed and said these were not commonly seen.
