A big rainbow falls into the back garden.
Hand-held & filter free. Multiply layer to kick things off, then some heavy work with the Smudge Stick filter in Photoshop, which introduced some interesting lines and shapes. HSS!
Plenty more at Pelcomb Portraits.
The old Enys estate opens its gates every bluebell time. I used the smudgestick in filters list for this one. The bluebells are beautiful and the scent is fantastic especially on a warm Spring day.
This house has become an important landmark in my neighborhood - most directions to our street consist of some variation of "...when you reach the VERY yellow house, start looking for the sign..." No one has missed it yet! ;)
I admit that I did add a bit of a "smudge stick" filter in PSE to give it a boost today - even this house looked a little dull in this dreary weather...

I am not a fan of red wine but I keep a bottle (sometimes 2) just in case someone stops by who is...

An above shot of the altar I set up in my bedroom.
Mostly made up of gifts or things from my Nana's including the table. The doll in the middle, abalone shell, feather, and necklace were all from my Nana. The jewelry box I think belonged to my great-gran. :)
Getting those last few pre-Christmas errands done! WHAT was I thinking???!!!

No, I didn't stop taking SPs. I just stopped editing and posting them. This means I have (shuffle, shuffle) a MONTH'S worth of SPs ready to upload now. Bear with me!
The American Society for Engineering Education mailed me this lovely little book. Since I will be teaching STEM this seems cool to me.
Photoshopped - smudgestick
smudge stick in my kitchen yesterday afternoon.
I have a moon and star hanging in my window above and everyday it makes these beautiful rainbows prisms....
I just wanted to share it with you....
I've also been really liking the smudge stick. I have All Vamp Everything but it's sadly currently discontinued since all non-collection smudge sticks have been taken off the line. A facebook post mentions that some of the more popular colors will be reworked and incorporated into future collections. I saw All Vamp Everything all over the indie subreddit so I'm pretty positive that this shade will pop up eventually. It was nicely pigmented and applied evenly.

Same as the previous original drawing, but I simply applied one Photoshop filter to this known as smudge stick to give it more of an album-y pop culture kind of feel.
Original description:
So, I've always loved album cover art, especially those album covers from the 80's hard rock and metal bands that give off some semi-anarchist political statement with someone screaming in either pain or anger. With no particular connection to any political view, I just tried to recreate the formula.
Drawn originally in pen, colored with colored pencils, shaded with charcoal, then painted with water colors, covered some with markers in places, and outlined in certain areas in black felt sharpie
An example of an image begun through frottage, by teasing an image out of swirls of paint laid down without forethought.
Out of this evolved an Afro-Caribbean youth wearing a cowrie necklace and a turban, holding a glowing herb and smudgestick, while an ancient face of indeterminate gender (an ancestor?) holds a crescent moon in the upper left.
Who is offering to whom? To me this seems an astral encounter, both a serendipity and a ritual.
Although the streets of Stromness in Orkney are extremely picturesque, they're a little lacking in colour, especially on an overcast day, so the bunting that was out added a sharp contrast (not sure if the bunting was for the Jubilee the previous week or for Shopping Week the week after)
Had a bit of a play with Photoshop... I quite like this one
November 14: It's a gloriously warm and sunny day, and I'm feeling blessed. Still crazed, but nevertheless blessed. These smudge sticks--bundles of sage wrapped in embroidery thread--sit in a glass on our mantel, giving constant blessing to the room, and our house. I've never had the heart to burn them; they're too pretty. So today I paid attention to them by taking pictures.
