Something New!
We just got back from our trip to the Trumansburg Farmer's Market and one of the booths had Aronia Berries for sale. They had a smoothie to try and I was quite taken by it, so we bought a pint of berries. The fellow gave us his smoothie recipe and I made it soon as we got home. Yum, it is good. The berries resemble blueberries but are black and very dry and tart, but with the other ingredients it makes a super tasty drink. We're going to get a couple Aronia shrubs and plant them in our yard. Maybe we'll get enough berries from it in the coming years to make more smoothies!
Pitahaya Smoothie
- 1/2 pitahaya
- 2 bananas
- 1 cup of almond milk
- some drops of vanilla
Blend until it is smooth and add the topics you want, I chose white and black chocolate shavings, wafer sticks and strawberries for mine, it was delicious!
The last of the Botany Bay series which is a long exposure version of the previous image. I took shots at 10, 20 and 30 seconds, but found that on this occasion 10 seconds still revealed the reflection (which I was keen to retain), whilst it blurred to almost nothing at longer exposures.
Another lovely day today! Made me feel like making another blueberry smoothie. <3
Hope you're all having an amazing day! :)

Tricolour Smoothie - spectacular and delicious.
Top - banana and peanut butter
Middle - Blueberries and lemon juice
Bottom - kiwi and milled linseed
Healthy ingredients and counts towards your 5 a day!
If the layers are too juicy, strain and freeze for a few minutes until stiff before adding to the glass.
I should have topped it off with a spoonful of creme fraiche!
An essential ingredient to all our meals, the curry leaf tree stands quiet and fragrant in our garden and is my most important ingredient in my morning green smoothie.. And when it rains, it holds the raindrops ever so gently on its leaves, letting them roll down one by one...
While it was windy today, I have decided to make some mixed-fruit smoothies and enjoy them outdoor in our backyard. I was thinking this Summer had gone by so quickly. I felt like I haven't done anything.

We made a MESS (a much bigger mess than is apparent) of our kitchen last night, but had a lot of fun doing it :)
