Tonight's dinner smoothie - spinach, carrot juice, orange/mango juice, banana and golden fruit blend (strawberries, mangoes, pineapple). I make smoothies to help up the nutrient intake for my family. It's easy to put in spinach and kale, this particular smoothie did look a little on the brown side after it was blended.

Ingredients
2 grapefruit
3 oranges
1 small pineapple
1 cantaloupe melon
100g of sugar or saccharin

If you Softies are too lazy to chew your food you can whoosh it up and drink it instead! Perfect way to eat/drink for the hot weather.
Hej put banana, watermelon, blueberries, raspberries, protein powder, ground flaxseed, plain yoghurt and almond milk into her smoothie.
She said she choked a bit on the raspberry seeds so maybe they are not the best fruit for a smoothie.
But it was a pretty colour and full of nutrients (things Softies need because they are not made of perfect, pure and pristine plastic!)

I think I may have started some sort of smoothie revolution over here. I have definite opinions about smoothies. I hate most of the ones you can buy because they are usually too full of bananas (a hard flavor to cover up), ice (ugh- who wants a watered down smoothie??), or sugar (it's supposed to be healthy, right?). Anyway, we have made some kick ass smoothies in the past but I was flipping through a trashy magazine the other day and read an interview with some star and they off-handedly mentioned their love of smoothies with avocado, cocoa and mint.
That got the cogs in my brain turning and I whipped up the smoothie you see above- avocado, frozen bananas, whey protein powder, cocoa, apple mint and stevia from the garden. This is my first year growing stevia and I love plucking a leaf here or there to chew on. It is very sweet. This morning I made another with chocolate mint and a handful of raspberries. They are so creamy and smooth with the avocado and banana but you can't really taste either. It tastes like a mint chocolate milkshake. I love (healthy) dessert for breakfast.
The delicious fixin's for my dirt-tasting (as Dead Slow describes) smoothie: yogurt, milk, peanut butter, oatmeal, flax seeds, whey powder, frozen berries and ice cubes.
That's how I start my day!

This Mango Avocado Smoothie is so interesting to me as I am having avocado and I needed to use that
I tried one of the wild berry smoothies from McDonald's today. It was a bit of a letdown. I guess that was to be expected since I used to work at an Orange Julius and nothing beats their tripleberry smoothies. Sadly, that Orange Julius is gone, so I have to settle from second rate smoothies from other places. :(

My first morning smoothie. I over filled the pitcher to the max to see what happened. I put the cap on and pressed smoothie and off it went and then in a moment it was done and soooo smooth. This blender really did what it was supposed to do.
cacao, goji berries, Incan golden berries, hemp seed oil, spirulina, red leaf kale, lemon, frozen bananas, frozen strawberries, bee pollen, maca, protein powder (made of brazil nuts, hemp seeds), coconut oil, agave nectar and maybe other stuff but that is probably it. The liquid is unfiltered apple juice.
